The Taliban sends an open letter to the president urging the U.S. to leave Afghanistan.
A note by the Taliban spokesman was sent to journalists Tuesday morning, saying President Trump recognized the errors of his predecessors by reviewing Afghan policy.
The letter recommends the withdrawal of U.S. forces from the country, as well as not tasking the military with the strategy.
The note additionally stated a withdrawal would put American troops out of harms way, and bring an end to an inherited war.
This comes after the Trump administration proposed an increase of deployed troops to the area.
Meanwhile. at least one person is dead and two others wounded following a Taliban suicide car bombing in Afghanistan.
Officials say the attacker detonated a car full of explosives at a military checkpoint in Kabul.
Police believe the bomber likely planned to enter the provincial capital of Kunduz, but decided to detonate after being arrested.
The Taliban spokesman has since claimed responsibility for the attack in a statement sent to local media.
Yeah, I'm so sure.
I’ve been wanting us to get out and stay out of Afghanistan for almost 10 years. However this Open Letter from the Taliban (!) is the exact wrong way to get a president’s speedy compliance. Even if Pres Trump had been contemplating our removal from that country, we cannot do it just now without looking as if fearful of and trying to appease the Taliban. Thanks for nuttin; Ayatollah Mohseni!
Dear Taliban,
After reviewing your kindly-worded letter, we have decided to send you a special gift in appreciation. Please provide the latitude and longitude of where you would like it delivered.
Best wishes for a 72-Helen Thomas future and Sincerely,
Your Pen Pals in the U.S.A.
MOAB them as a answer. Take out all poppy fields as we leave and turn out the lights.
Drop a nuke ever 10 miles on the way out and never go back.
Why not kill every taliban leader, insist that the saudis stop funding the maddrasses in pakistan and then . leave.
Waiting for Maxine Waters to be first in to say, “Give them what they are asking for....”.
Do that for 20 years.
he US apparently is in desperate need of neutron bombs (previously axed by Clintoon).
Taliban sends Trump a letter hoping that he will do the complete opposite of what is says. As an expert sleuth I noticed the letter was written on McCain’s stationary
The taliban also sent a letter to the DNC congratulating them on following their lead in destroying historical monuments.
Maybe we can reconnect.
I had not heard of "prompt radiation" before.
Makes more sense than ever.
Are things the problem? Or Peeps?
yes continuous burning of poppy fields is good enough reason I say to stay and killing Taliban

In order to be effective militarily, a neutron bomb would have to incapacitate its victims quickly. This requires a very high dose, in the neighborhood of 8,000 rems. For a one-kiloton ERW detonated at 1,500 feet, the required lethal dose would cover an area of about 0.8 square miles. Anyone in this kill zone would die in a particularly gruesome manner, as neutrons collided with protons inside living tissue. The ionization would break down chromosomes, cause nuclei to swell and destroy all types of cells, especially those in the central nervous system.

"Domestic critics saw the neutron bomb as an escalation of the arms race. Others charged that, by making nuclear weapons less destructive, it made nuclear war easier to wage. Leftists even called it a "capitalist" bomb because it killed people while protecting property."

After Reagan was elected president, he announced that he was reviving the neutron bomb program.

Confronted with European refusal to allow deployment of the weapons, the bombs never left the U.S. and were dismantled during the first Bush administration. As precision-guided weaponry continued to mature and become more sophisticated, the rationale for building a neutron bomb faded. Samuel Cohen never forgave Ronald Reagan for what he deemed was a betrayal against him and his country.
In 2006, the embittered physicist completed the third revision of his memoirs and published them for free on the Internet. This edition of the book had a new title: Fuck You! Mr. President.

IMMHO I believe my government has wasted money or more folly things than this.
Sounds like a good move. We don’t need to be there and they don’t want us.
“...he US apparently is in desperate need of neutron bombs (previously axed by Clintoon).”
I believe it was President Peanut (Carter) who discontinued the neutron weapons program.
Now some say Bush II.
Whatever, we still should have some.
