DALLAS, TX (WBAP/KLIF News) – A Dallas Independent School District board member is calling on the district to rename all schools with confederate names.
District 8 Trustee Miguel Solis posted a tweet late Sunday night saying “It’s past time to change the name of all confederate schools in Dallas. Looking for leaders to join me in making the change”. Solis’ district consist of schools in central and northwest Dallas and the Love Field area. Currently there are no campuses within District 8 that have names tied to confederate leaders.
Dallas schools Director of News and Information Robyn Harris shared the school district’s statement regarding the policy of changing school names:
“Dallas ISD has a policy for the renaming of a school. As an example, in 2016 Piedmont G.L.O.B.A.L. Academy undertook this process to change the name of the campus from John B. Hood Middle School. As part of the policy, any recommendations are initiated by the school community and received by the board before April 1. The board will consider the recommendations in May, and a vote would be held at the June board meeting. During the most recent proposal cycle, there were no school name changes brought forward to the board. Dallas ISD will continue to consider proposals per policy.”
The district did not identify how many schools within Dallas would be impacted by a name change. Solis has not yet responded to requests for an interview.

I think my objection is to the entire Democrat approach to anything they disagree with. If a convervative doesn’t like something on TV, they turn the channel. Libs want to outlaw it to restrict choice to only those things they like. If a conservative doesn’t think 32oz soft drinks are a good idea, they don’t buy them. The liberals want to outlaw them, again, to restrict your choices. It the same here. They don’t like statues, so they tear them down and break them apart. They have no regard for anything but their own position. They are dictators.

Of additional significance—if you were counted for purposes of representation you were also counted for purposes of taxation, so the comporomise cut both ways. Too bad the 16th amendment severed the connection.

I wouldn’t be too surprised if they soon demand that Crayola remove all white crayons from their packaging, and white paint will be renamed ‘paint of no color’, so that its name won’t offend anyone. Of course there is a soon to be renamed famous Burger chain, The Non-minority Castle. The televised sports will forever be changed when baseballs, soccer balls, golf balls, etc. will be changed to a non-offending color. And imagine all the wonderful possibilities when white food is no longer allowed to be sold. Invest now in food coloring manufacturers. Multicolor rice, orange bread, purple milk, yellow salt, green sugar anyone?
May as well just revoke the U.S. Constitution - blacks were property back then and weren’t actually protected by it.
