Today in Central Texas, we will have our 36th day over 100 this summer. On the bright side, we won’t come anywhere close to the hellish summer of 2011 which set the record of 90 days over 100. That heat wave culminated on Labor Day weekend with the largest wildfire in TX history, burning 1,670 homes.
The 1980 heatwave was worse.
According to my parents and grandparents, the heatwaves of the 1930s and 1950s were even worse.
Of course, those heatwaves will need to be erased from history in order to show Algore's Global Warming.
