The whole thing reminds me of Berkeley, CA. where the cops stood out of the way watching.
And the point of that is what?
That's not surprising, considering the vehicle had already sent at least one person flying through the air while it was moving forward, before it stopped and then reversed...
In the photo people are seen fleeing the street when the car is near the bicycles.
In the video is seen people scrambling out of the street as the car approaches without slowing. One person is standing with his arms raised to stop the car, he runs out of the way at the last moment.
It is then, as he refused to stop or even slow, as the car nears the thick of the crowd, it is then that something is thrown or swung at the rear of the car. People have already fled the street in panic.
So, the point is: No one was pursuing him. No one did anything to his car until charged the crowd. No one did anything to his car until he used it as a weapon and people ran from the street.
There’s nothing to support the claim that he drove into the crowd because he was frightened. If he was that frightened he could have put it in reverse.
I would be scared, I would definitely be in fear of my life if I was driving and people like that were blocking me from being able to get away. The same groups that were there have been violent many times in the past; were being violent that day. Any reasonable thinking person would have a lot of fear.
To me it seems reasonable that the driver was afraid to let them stop his car, had fear that his life would be in danger if he stopped. I will wait for all the facts, but if the man was just trying to keep from being captured and beaten or worse I feel he was justified.
What is the justification for blocking traffic? For violence, property destruction, and assault? Those actions are not free speech or a part of a legitimate protest. I have been wondering through all of this how protestors can be allowed to block traffic, it should never be allowed by the authorities.
You don't know that for sure Ray. Remember, several reports have the cops saying the suspect was scared. They would know more than I because I was not privy to what he said to a lawyer or the cops.
And for all I know, those reports could be fake.
Ray, if this were an intentional terror attack and he was going to maximize damage on a target, why would he have his foot on the brake?
The same guy said that after the guy backed up, some white supremacists helped him get away by pointing him in the direction he should go.
The a**hole Fox guy didn't even bother asking the guy how he knew they were white supremacists.

Oh, I agree with that. I have never seen such biased reporting in my life. And then the attacks on Trump for not not naming names in all this chaos. When they know damn well there are multiple groups involved and they’re attempting to paint everyone with the same brush...They’re all nazis...lol

People are scattering prior to anything being swung at the car.
It appears to be a flag or possibly a paper sign that was swung at the rear of the car, not a baseball bat.

The distances in the photo are compressed. Post 142 explains the location of the car when he stabbed the brakes. It is well before the crowd.
