The irony is that when Robert E. Lee was president of Washington College (now Washington & Lee) in Virginia he ruled with a kindly but iron rule. He would never have allowed ANY demonstration. These colleges are out of control and their presidents are the worst kinds of moral cowards.
But of course, the commander of the army of Northern Virginia must be consigned to the garbage.
I am not an advocate of NO demonstrations. I am an advocate of adequate police protection for the exercise of rights.
