It would be very nice, and much appreciated, if you could elaborate a little. We FRiends are a brotherhood and it is very nice to know a little about each other.
Virgil’s mom died in child birth. His dad tried to support his three kids, but ended up giving them to the Catholic orphanage. Some kids would get a nickel and such, and get some candy. Virgil wasn’t so lucky, until one day he saw an old boot. He picked it up and underneath was a dime. That was the beginning of his faith in God. He bought candy for his friends with it.
In 1986 I had a time of renewal in my faith, after my third son was born (the one that married Virgil’s granddaughter).
I was remodeling my FIL’s room, and listening to a Christian radio program who talked of fullfilling broken promises. I searched my memory, and thought of a pair of outgrown cowboy boots my dad said he would replace (8 yo?) that didn’t happen.
Well, my dad died in 1987, and I brought home a variety of his stuff. Some of you may have an ear for the Spirit of God, but as I passed my closest, the Lord said: Look down.
There was a pristine pair of boots my dad bought in CO on a business trip. I got my boots.
