China gave its unruly child matches, another north Vietnam scenario

I am starting to wonder if the best way out of this isn’t to just quit on South Korea. Seriously, who thought building a megalopolis like Seoul within artillery range of the Norks was a good idea? Kim’s goal is to unify Korea, the reality is we will never do what it takes to stop him. Let’s just walk away. Let China and Russia deal with Kim, it’s their backyard. If the South Koreans didn’t want to live as hostages to Kim they wouldn’t so let’s just walk away.

I don’t believe there was ever an actual Congressional Act of War with North Korea. Probably trivial point but IIRC FDR was the last to get one on Dec. 8th, 1941.

-—They were the culturally closest to North Korea ——

I have wondered if there are some racial differences as well. I don’t know. And then I wonder if the cultural differences are actually the difference between being rich and totally destitute.

And then I wonder if there is intel data tracking Kim and his order receiving generals. If as few as five or maybe ten people are killed, the command structure might be rengered ineffective and just collapse.

I agree with most of your thoughts.

I don’t agree “the world” thinks America is on the way out. That might be the view of the Euro’s but certainly not the Asians on the pacific rim. The future of the world lies in Asia and the Pacific rim, and they know it. The future there is not based on the past but on the future of hundreds of millions of young people intent on being like Americans.

The recent amazing welcome of our President to Saudi Arabia and by extension to the GCC and the leadership of the Arab and thus the Moslem world is testimony to the fact. East of Suez is where the historic action is taking place. Europe is moribund, dead.

Trump either knows or senses this change in history and is making an effort to be part of it.

I could go on but will quit
