By Vi Nguyen Published: August 10, 2017, 7:32 pm Updated: August 11, 2017, 8:25 am MUNCIE, Ind. (WISH) A stabbing in Muncie on Thursday ended with a man dead and another arrested for murder.
The 19-year-old suspect told police he would refer to himself as a martyr and wanted to purge the wicked.
It happened a few minutes after noon Thursday at an apartment near South Franklin and West Seventh streets.
Muncie police arrested Jaylin Ammon on a preliminary charge of murder. He was being held in the Delaware County Jail. Court documents showed the victim was stabbed in the neck and crawled through a window to get away from the suspect.
A neighbor heard a loud scream; he looked out the window and saw the victim on the side of the yard. The neighbor ran downstairs to help the victim and called 911. He also tried to help the victim to stop the bleeding with a towel.
The victim was taken to IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Police spent hours processing the first-floor apartment for any evidence.
Marwin Strong, who is the organizer of Enough is Enough in Muncie, said, Even though its not my family, its not their (the rest of his groups) family, you know it hurts our heart because we care about our community.
Members from the crime-prevention group stood and watched behind the yellow tape.
Everybody is hurting and thats why we call enough is enough of the violence, enough is enough of the drug addiction, enough is enough not having our teens go to prison on a daily basis, he said.
Strong said his group patrols a different neighborhood in Muncie every Tuesday and Thursday night. They want to keep the peace and get to know their neighbors, and Thursday night was no different.
Were out here to pray, just pray for the community. We also pray for the victim. We pray for the one incarcerated right now, he said.
According to court documents, a witness saw a shirtless man with long brown hair walking down Seventh Street. He was covered in blood. Police identified him as Ammon. The witness asked him if he was involved in the stabbing and he said, I took out a Meth Dealer! He was going to hurt my friends.
Documents showed the witness told the suspect to go to the police and he did. Police found a bloody pocket knife in Ammons pants pocket.
It affects everyone because were part of the community. You know it takes a village to raise a village, Strong said.
He said his group will continue to fight the fight in Muncie.
Were going to continue to help this community to understand you know. We need everybody to be involved in Enough is Enough because its that time, its that time to bring families together and not have people lose their lives over this senseless violence, he said.
Documents also show the suspect told police he was upset with the victim dealing meth to his friends. He told the victim to leave his apartment and when he refused he stabbed victim.
24-Hour News 8 contacted the Delaware County Coroners Office for a name and age of the victim, but did not hear back Thursday evening.
“He told the victim to leave his apartment and when he refused he stabbed victim. “
Keep your mouth shut or have a better story:
“I told the victim to leave his apartment and when he refused he came at me and I had to defend myself.”
Jaylin Ammon, purger of the wicked.
With what I know so far........innocent as far as i’m concerned!
Give that guy a costume and a cool name.

MUNCIE, Ind. A man accused of fatally stabbing a Muncie man told police he refers to himself as a martyr and he wanted to purge the wicked, according to a probable cause affidavit.
Police were dispatched the scene in the 200 block of W. 7th St. at about 12:12 p.m. Thursday. There, officers says they found a neighbor applying pressure to a stab wound on the 27-year-old Steven Cooks neck. Cook was transported to IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
An affidavit shows the suspect, 19-year-old Jaylin Edword Ammon, was spotted by a woman on 7th Street. Thats when Ammon reportedly told her I took out a meth dealer! He was going to hurt my friends. Court records say the woman told Ammon that he should go to police and he agreed.
When police took Ammon into custody a short time later, police say they found a pocket knife covered in what appeared to be blood in his pocket. The Muncie Star Press reports that he also appeared to have blood on his face, chest, neck, hands and forearms.
Ammon was transported to the Muncie Police Department, where officers spoke with him. During an interview, Ammon said Cook was dealing meth to his friends, an affidavit shows. Ammon reportedly said he was tired of Cook being at the apartment, so he asked him to leave. When Cook ignored him, Ammon told police that he retrieved a pocket knife and stabbed the victim in the neck.
Ammon told police that Cook tried to get away, but he held on to him until he was covered in so much blood that he was able to slip free. Thats when Cook reportedly crawled out of a window.
When asked how he felt after reflecting on what he had just done, Ammon said Well, this is my cross to bear, according to court documents.
With what I know so far........innocent as far as im concerned!

Come on! The guy deserves at least a weekend of community service.
In the second story I posted, the last quote,
When asked how he felt after reflecting on what he had just done, Ammon said Well, this is my cross to bear, according to court documents.
Along with the name and costume, a sword perhaps?
Nah, swords are so middle ages.
Make him a set of forearm bracers with built in tazers, .50 caliber airguns, and .40mm grenade launchers.
It appears that he already performed his community service.

Going for some grant money? Let’s not bicker and argue over ....
Frankly, that is probably the best solution to the opioid epidemic. Duterte in the Philippines has reached the same conclusion.
We aren’t far from this being thr norm but not that far either.
When you see signs saying ‘Authorized Body Dump’ you’ll know it’s ok.
Say what you will, the Purger is a man of action. He tells you to leave, you don't, he'll cut you.
My “futile and stupid gesture” comment is directed at yet another group of goo goo community activists spouting lame **** from Hildabeast and accomplishing absolutely zero.
I’m sure Chicago has similar organizations, about as effective.
A call to the police might have been a better option than taking the law into your own hands and stabbing the guy in the neck.
I know a lot of the local Muncie LEOs and they are good at what they do, or they actually fight crime—unlike virtue-signalling groups like `Enough is Enough’ spouting empty platitudes, suggesting that we all just try to get along and have a week without drug-related murders.
Dealer I can understand. what about the Suppliers?
