It looks like the movement started by Colin Kaepernick last season isn't going to end during the 2017 season just because he's out of football. Eagles safety Malcolm Jenkins revealed this week that he'll be protesting during the national anthem again in 2017 after also protesting in 2016.
Like Kaepernick, Jenkins will be protesting racial injustice and police brutality against minorities. However, unlike Kaepernick, Jenkins won't be kneeling during the national anthem. Instead, the Eagles safety raises a fist over his head, like he did during Philadelphia's opening preseason game Thursday against the Packers.
Jenkins released a lengthy statement this week explaining why he'll once again be protesting.
"Last season, I raised my fist as a sign of solidarity to support people, especially people of color, who were and are still unjustly losing their lives at the hands of officers with little to no consequence," Jenkins said, via ESPN.com "After spending time with police officers on ride-alongs, meeting with politicians on the state and federal level and grass roots organizations fighting for human rights, it's clear that our criminal justice system is still crippling communities of color through mass incarceration."

Let the boycotts begin and the ratings drop further.
Not too late to cut him...
Jenkins will soon find himself long forgotten and ignored by most Americans. If someone wants to employ him as a football player and pay him, that is their business decision.
No, it's clear that "communities of color" are crippled by being home to a high percentage of criminal thugs.
Only one way to solve this problem. Pull all officers out of Black neighborhoods. That should keep Blacks safe from the police.
Ah, the Eagles are super overrated anyway. Only really good song was Hotel California
Keep digging the hole. Who needs you?
He won't have a problem finding a new job. Of course, it may pay a bit less and he'll have to learn a whole new set of audibles -"Want fries with that?"
If this continues I will not come back to the NFL. I was part of the millions that walked away last year after casperdick
No one likes a party pooper.
: a person who refuses to join in the fun of a party; broadly :
one who refuses to go along with everyone else
I will continue my boycott of the NFL again this year if he decides to do it and the team, or the NFL, does nothing! To think, doing it as part of Philadelphia, the home of the Liberty Bell!
Krapperdink can still protest the national anthem. But now nobody is stupid enough to pay him or give him a televised soapbox to do it. So lefties keep up the “it’s all about me” protests. The NFL hasn’t lost enough money and viewers yet.
Cut his F’n ass.
The Eagles will take a financial hit because of this misguided ball player. I wonder how much they are willing to take.
Remember boys this is supposed to be a sports event, not a political rally. And the National Anthem is apolitical.
The NFL is too stupid to ejected his racist, insulting, offensive self.
Let the jackass go play ball in the country of his choice, just not the USA.
Not any more.
The NFL keeps giving away those shovels. Before you know it, no one will give a damn about the NFL or the overpaid peacocks who get paid to play a game. I didn’t watch last year and am NOT watching this year. I don’t miss it.
Best thing that happened to San Diego was the blood sucking Spanos took their losers to LA. I have so many other Sunday options, like watch grand daughter pitch, go house shopping, visit Costco, go to the beach, watch grand son play water polo. Life is good. May the Spanos and the NFL rot in the sewer of life. They earned it.
Yup, we see how well that works in Chicago
