So he has brought in Miller Chevalier, a boutique Washington law firm full of international law experts, and has parted with WilmerHale.

5th Amend has nothing to do with it. Unless and until you know what crime is alleged why talk to anyone? If someone thinks you did something let them bring the charge.
This is unacceptable, and Congress should actually pass a law saying that if the subject of such a witch hunt is NOT CONVICTED, the gubment must pay all legal bills.
I understand your sentiment completely, but they have already been declared guilty by the Ruling Class, no reason to help them out by offering more rope.
My guess is ths you haven’t had a lot of experience dealing with the Department of Justice.
DOJ operations:
Clinton will be invited to a meeting at her convenience. She will not be placed under oath and no record of the meeting will be made.
Manafort will have his doors kicked in at 5 AM. Materials that he was to present to Congress that same day are confiscated.
DOJ is controlled by the dark state uniparty.
Clinton withheld and destroyed materials under subpoena.
Manafort has provided Congress with whatever was requested.
DOJ is a rogue agency.
my experience with government at all levels tells me to only answer what is necessary and required by law and to never ever volunteer anything.

He [Mueller] and Comey are good friends and former colleagues who worked hand-in-hand at the FBI and Department of Justice. Agents will tell you they were joined at the hip.

When Comey was appointed to succeed Mueller as FBI Director, both men appeared together and were effusive in their praise of one another. Their relationship is not merely a casual one.
