President Harry Truman once supposedly said: If you want a friend in Washington, get a dog. Just about all presidents before and since have taken that advice until President Trump. Theres even a book about the presidential pets, titled First Dogs, American Presidents and Their Best Friends.
President Trump could sure use a good friend right now. I can only imagine all the tough, challenging decisions he is facing. I am still very bullish in supporting his agenda for our country. I still believe that he is a man who is thinking, working hard and keeping his promises to the American people.
Over the years, we have had many presidents who have worked very hard and have faced many challenges. As a physician, I have witnessed how pressure, long hours, and commitment to their country have placed a toll on their health and overall levels of stress. When they leave their presidencies, they seem to have aged from the burden of leading our country.

In America, we doctors and health professionals have made dogs part of our health team, and for good reason. We bring them into hospitals, and we can see the magical changes the dogs create as a sick person spends time with them.
In addition, dogs definitely improve a persons dopamine, oxytocin and serotonin levels. In one Japanese study, researchers realized that dog owners who spent a lot of time staring into their dogs eyes increased levels of oxytocin (the bonding hormone) by up to 300 percent. By spending quality time with your dog or other pet, you will ease tension, improve your thinking, learn how to trust, and receive unconditional love.

That’s cute, what is it?
And then he had Mooch the pit bull pooch for 11 days.
Yep, have one myself. Once trained they are capable of working on their own.
DJT needs one, or better yet a pack, run herd on the Senate and House. Just picture Border Collies snapping at the heels of McConnell the turdle and Reluctant Bride Ryan. That picture warms the cockles of my heart. ;>)
I heard Trump wanted a lion instead.
Excellent choice. Like twins they are. I wonder if this dog also bites! LOL
I think a big, badass junk yard dog trained to kill would be just what he needs to deal with the damn GOP......
Oh boy...well if anyone goes crazy ....remember that disease they can carry...just kidding
It could be someone is allergic to pet dander as you brought up.
President Trump should get a Rottweiler pup. They are obedient and good natured. Rotties used to drag the butchered meat to market. Drain that Swamp! Good Morning!
What a ridiculous notion. I’ve always had dogs and cats but no, Trump doesn’t need a dog. From all accounts, he’s never had one and doesn’t need one. He will eventually go back to Trump Towers and that is no place for a dog. Presidents somehow have this idea that they need a dog to show how they’re just like Joe Average. A dog should never be used as a show piece and given to some staff member when they leave office.
LOL. We’ve always had critters. Cats, dog, guinea pigs, gerbils, mice. We’ve even fostered baby chucks and a baby opossum. It’s been my experience that critters tend to be cleaner than people. :-)
Dogs, chicks...We’ve had chucks, but we didn’t foster those. And I’ll say no more on that.
I’ve got that covered. A Rottweiler lives 8 to 10 years. What a life he or she would have!
Pit bull or Bull Terrier are good choices.
With titanium teeth.
Too busy for a dog. MAGA is a 24/7 job.
a big, badass junk yard dog
Perfect.
With a lion haircut.
Waukegan Il, one was reported as a lion on the run!
They all but called out the National Guard to find the ‘escaped lion’.
Trump is a germophobe / clean freak. No way he’s getting a dog. A dog was given (offered) to Barron early on, and I don’t see any evidence of it being in their lives.
We have 6 cats, 100% indoor, and my husband is an OCD clean freak. They’re much cleaner than dogs and have a natural deodorizer in their saliva so they don’t stink. (The smell of dogs has made me throw up.) The male cat thinks he’s a person.
It’s up to the owner to maintain the cats’ environment — litter box, etc. — to avoid odors in the home. We’ve sold houses and often buyers don’t realize we have any pets, much less 6 of ‘em. The cats hide when the doorbell ring so they’re never seen.
Being currently owned by 4 English Bulldogs I have to say they are like having a house full of toddler clowns....makes us laugh every single day! Yes they are pricey, yes they can have lots of health issues....but worth every single penny for the laughter, love and happiness they bring us. Having been owned by this breed for well over 20+ yrs, my advice in getting one....find a very reputable breeder. Our first 2 cost us a pretty penny in vet bills with health problems, due to our inexperience with the breed....these last 4...knock on wood have very few health issues. That is the difference in getting from a reputable breeder vs a backyard breeder! I think DJT would look great with an EB next to him, but my opinion is kinda biased! haha :-)
