CHICAGO (CBS) What should one do in the event of a nuclear attack?
Not long ago, it seemed like an abstract question. That was before President Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, who have been escalating military threats recently.
Just today, Trump said his earlier warning about bringing fire and fury upon the communist nation may not have been tough enough. When asked what could be tougher, he said, Well youll see.(snip)
IF YOU ARE NEAR THE BLAST:
Turn away and close and cover your eyes to prevent damage to your sight
Drop to the ground face down and place your hands under your body
Remain flat until the heat and two shock waves have passed
IF YOU ARE OUTSIDE WHEN THE BLAST OCCURS:(snip)
IF YOU ARE ALREADY IN A SHELTER OR BASEMENT:(snip)
North Korea, according to experts, currently doesnt have the capability to launch a nuclear missile at Chicago.

Why? Where you off planet when President Barack Obama made a deal that gave Iran every chance to make or acquire nukes? Perhaps you forgot that it was President Bill Clinton that gave NK the ability to make nukes with a bad deal.
Says the city about to blow from its own debt bomb.
Yea bend over and Kiss your butt goodbye
Classic...owned one of those when I was a teen.
As a baby boomer I grew up with weekly air raid siren test (in our city it was noon on Monday). Buildings were marked with a Civil Defense sign to indicate where you could find shelters. These shelters were stocked with food and water.
At schools we had “duck and cover” drills on a regular basis.
During and after the Cuban Missile crisis there was a surge in home bomb shelters.
So, been there done that and have the T shirt. I wonder how all the leftest snowflakes are going to adjust to the new reality?
Hell, I just got my eclipse glasses...now this?
IL’s debt bomb will get them before Trump or the Norkuse can...
Norkies...
In the early Sixties, there was a brief phenomenon known as “Wacky Plaques.” That Civil Defense poster was condensed in one Wacky Plaque as the pithy statement, “In the event of a nuclear attack, put your head between your legs and kiss your ass goodbye.”
Funny how CBS did not care when Democrats were arming our Nuclear Enemies. Why is it a problem now?
....I wonder how all the leftist snowflakes are going to adjust to the new reality....
There will be no safe spaces. They will encounter Lots of macrogressions. Best be well armed.
Fat Boy isn’t going to nuke Chicago.
He knows he would be doing the rest of the country a favor.
It’s a problem now because the Russia, Russia, Russia story is going nowhere and Chicago is about to go bust.
I disagree with the conservative take on this. This will create support for Trump against North Korea. And it’s absolutely necessary we never should have abandoned protection of our population.
In Japan there were thousands of dead. But there were also many survivors and even some of those with bad radiation burns lived long lives. While most had to deal with reoccurring cancers. The biggest issue was being in the direct path of the shock wave. It ripped the clothes off people and blinded anyone who looked at it.However just being in a car facing away from the blast or standing behind a building was good enough to survive.
Those might just come in handy.
Can we pass a law to require micro-stamping of all nuclear weapons to make us safer?
