Police Chief Philip Dupuis told The Courier that he went to see the ENT specialist Tuesday while wearing his badge on his belt next to his gun and his ID on a lanyard around his neck.
He was checking in when the receptionist asked him about his firearm. She requested he store his firearm in his car, but Dupuis refused. He reiterated that he was an officer and he carried his weapon for his safety and the safety of others. He said he was then asked to leave.

We so deserve what’s coming.
We really do.
L
Bet you he still gets billed for the visit.
Ping.
The doctor and his staff are jerks... I wish there was a way for police to put the doc on a ‘no call’ list - - meaning they won’t respond to his call for help some day...
But they won’t ... they’ll protect the jerk - - with their life if necessary... Prayers for the police officer...
Who is “we”? Speak for yourself.
“He said he was then asked to leave.”
If he refused to go what would she do, call the police?
So, they ask a cop to leave. He should have laughed at them.
What are they gonna do, call the cops?
When I was young no one would have noticed nor given it a second thought.
This hypersensitivity is sickening and pathetic. Time for serious push back.
My family doctor lets me use his private gun range whenever I like. Great guy.
The policeman should have arrested her for thwarting the police or some such violation. Interference with an officer or someone who is a LEO can come up with a good charge for this idiot.
My husband wore a badge for 30 years! He was expected to keep his gun IN HIS HOLSTER anytime he was in uniform. If the office manager is so sorry then he needs to fire the dumbarse that asked the Chief to remove his weapon!! Good Lord the STUPIDITY running rampant today is mind blowing. We support you Chief Dupuis!
It’d be a cold day in hell before I’d pay it.....
Another reason to home remedy.
Let’s see...Police CHIEF. How many officers and civilians under his watch? All with medical insurance I presume? The Chief could probably make a simple call to the carrier and have that doctor’s office removed from being a preferred provider.
Stupid statement. If they don’t allow guns for civilians why should cops be exempt?
We need 100 gun toters to crowd their office. Who they gonna call?
It’s Texas. That doctor needs to lose every customer on his roster (not patients - he is a liberal and sees the sick as a source of revenue, not as human beings capable of making responsible choices). I hope he ends up like the liberal who lost his $200k a year job for abusing the Chick-fil-A employee.
I don’t like to see decent people with their lives ruined, but the Ctrl-Left does not include decent people. Any doctor who permits this in his practice is an enemy of all I hold dear. If his life and career fall apart, good riddance.
It’d be a cold day in hell before I’d pay it.....
