FOX NEWS - Retired Gen. Tom McInerney on Monday said the United States has the capability to take out every city in North Korea, if Kim Jong Un were to fire artillery into Seoul, South Korea.
If he gets our full nuclear retaliatory capability, within minutes after one round going into Seoul, there will be nothing left, McInerney told Liz Claman on Countdown to the Closing Bell. If you go to Airborne Alertwe used to call it Chrome Domewith nuclear weapons and then we start building up our other forces, et cetera, he will not last 15 minutes.
The Hermit Kingdom announced Monday it will take thousands-fold revenge against the United States after the United Nations imposed new sanctions on the communist country on Saturday. The resolution, approved unanimously by the Security Council on Saturday, comes as a result of Pyongyangs repeated ballistic missile tests and efforts to develop a nuclear warhead. The sanctions are aimed at the countrys economy, including stopping the expansions of joint ventures and the exports of coal, lead, lead ore, iron, iron ore and seafood.....

What would be left of South Korea being as how their bases are right near the border?
Glass parking lot...??
Which means he is sandbagging. North Korea will be done with, in 4 minutes.
That’s the biggest worry, far more so than what they could fire at us. NK (except for Dictator Tubby) has literally nothing to lose.
Of course.
Can anyone answer a question for me about the Ohio class subs we converted into SSGNs?
I know they’re basically Tomahawk factories now but under the IRBM treaty that eliminated nuclear warheads on them are sub launched IRBMs included?
I would think that the flight time of Tomahawks from international waters to most of the NORKS cities would be about... 15 minutes.
I figured about 30 minutes to annihilation but 15 works for me.
There are fortified guard posts all along the DMZ. Most of the ROK Army is a bit further back. The US Army in Korea is in the middle of moving South of Seoul.
North Korea is approximately the size of Ohio.
Much more mountainous though.
I hate to say it, but Douglas MacArthur was right. We should have wiped out this regime when we had the chance.
We have to let them fire at the Sorks first. Too quick a response and the left will blame us for starting. China and Russia will use it as an excuse to get involved. That means our DMZ troops are a trip wire.
I still there are enough Chinese agents sprinkled amongst the Nork government and military that they could take control once Beijing gives the signal.
North Korea is not the Hill for China to die on.
My wife will be very upset if she is not able to watch her favorite K-Dramas.
Low yield tactical warheads with precision strikes at military & ruling party targets - "surgical strikes" - will greatly decrease collateral damage in North Korea, let alone South Korea.
Yup. And somehow Truman is made out to be the hero for standing up to him.
I pray, and am praying, there is a way to take out the regime without devastating the population, especially those precious children who have no choice in this fight. They are innocents.
This man needs to be fired now.
That has to be one of the most absurd statements I have every heard and any military officer making such needs to go look for job in the fast food industry.
The difference power between the US and North Korea is stark, yes, but the ability to project it limited.
Add to that stupid ideas like ‘nation building,’ idiotic ideas about rules of engagement, the fact that we still have a lot of Obama leftovers in the military, and that our enemy shares a border with PRC from wish all sorts of nasty surprises may come, and you will see just how stupid that statement is.
I really don’t want to commit this country and our service members to another fruitless, trillion dollar war.
How about a precision strike on the Pueblo?
(it belongs to us, after-all)
