"America is the best country on the planet. I'm a complete patriot," JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon tells CNBC.
Dimon recently said he was embarrassed in traveling the country by "listening to the stupid s--- we have to deal with in this country."
He believes the U.S. could get out of its growth slump if Washington can do something on tax reform, infrastructure and education.
"I'm a proud American," he said. "What's embarrassing to me is our inability to get infrastructure done properly."
"We don't have a competitive tax system here," Dimon added. "Our tax system has become less competitive over the last 20 years. Everyone has improved theirs. We simply haven't."
Despite his heated rhetoric, Dimon has avoided appearing partisan. He has signed on to help President Donald Trump promote his economic agenda and is chairman of the Business Roundtable, a consortium of big-business leaders looking to improve the U.S. economic climate.
Asked to pin blame on either side, he did note a possible difference in priorities.
"I'm not going to blame anyone," he said. "Everyone wants to get it done, or at least everyone in the Republican Party. We don't quite know what the Democrats want to do with tax reform. But my major point is we should all get together and work as hard as we can to get it done. If we fail, we fail. But I'm going to give it my best shot. I think it's just critical to America."

Wait, I thought Barry fixed that? What happened to the money?
These geniuses cannot say or think anything that hasn’t been said or thought for the last 100 years... All their solutions are always Federal.
They simply cannot envision a US where families, businesses, and localities solve their own problems how they want to.
“Once the missiles start flying, who’s side will the Never Trumpers be on then?”
They will still blame Trump. Bush has been exonerated.
Drudge has really been pumping this guy.
Sounds like he wants tax cuts.
Did you read even what’s on this page?
Yes, what did happen to the $880 BILLION taxpayer dollars that Obama spent on his “shovel ready jobs?” All we got were a few goofy Obama rainbow signs around paving projects in NYC. Why are there no records of how our money was spent?
We did. We did not elect Hillary Clinton to the Presidency! Now if we can just get her minions in the MSM to stop their whining and Trump hate we can get on with fixing those problems!
This idiot! Doesn’t he know that there are no more infrastructure problems in America?
Obama did a trillion dollar stimulus, to fix all the shovel-ready infrastructure problems in America!
So, there are no more infrastructure problems - PERIOD! And if they are, then we need to be asking where the hell our trillion dollars are!!!
Guys like this cant even use the term “ tax cuts”
“ Everyone else” that he claims fixed their tax systems would be .. ?
Canada? 93% on small businesses? Mexico? France? England?
Jamie Dimon would have backed Hillary in a heartbeat
Probably did
Higher taxes = All in the cause of fixing “ infrastructure”
Sounds like Diamon is positioning himself for a White House run of his own.
Not one word about entitlement spending.
Mr. Dimon, your silence on that subject speaks volumes.
And his lack of courage in dealing with the elephant in the room, entitlements, means that it’s SSDD with Mr. Dimon.
Dimon sees one of America’s most glaring problem causers in the mirror each morning.
In that respect he's no different than anyone else out there.
Not yet, anyway :-)
I think one of the biggest problems is federalizing every infrastructure project. It seems that you can’t fill a pothole without requesting federal money for it and waiting two years for it. Meanwhile the road falls apart.
He’s just in it for the cash. He sucked up to Obama, and did his bidding on economic bills even after Obama started running with the Occupy Wall Street thugs. He’s just doing the same now.
