The company apologized. For mature adults, that’s enough.

It wasn't enough for Breitbart writer Ben Kew, who still felt the need to report that the employee "allegedly denied service to two police officers."

The events follow a backtrack from Dunkin’ spokeswoman Michelle King, who said that the store’s layout is to blame, since it has two register areas, one of which is not regularly staffed. Sergeants Benevolent Association boss Ed Mullins decried that explanation as “an insult,” telling the Post: “Basically, Dunkin’ Donuts is saying that the two officers in the store were too stupid to know where to order — while every other customer came in and knew where to order.”

Two plainclothes NYPD officers with visible badges claimed they were denied service last week for being police officers at the store at 1993 Atlantic Avenue. A store manager then disputed the account, saying the police simply weren’t standing in the right place to order. But the officers say the clerk explicitly told them, “I don’t serve cops.”
