Funny thing is, in Wisconsin most kids in our area have been shooting for 10 years before they get to high school. In fact the high schools are pretty empty on the first days of hunting season.
Its hard to say that Gun Safety is inappropriate for High Schoolers when half the kids have been actively using guns since they were seven.

Are these the same people who laugh at abstinence programs? If so, they should make up their minds. Either keeping kids in the dark works or it doesn’t. But, it doesn’t work for guns if it doesn’t work for sex.

In Colorado in the early 80s, Hunter Safety Education (including firing multiple weapons on the football field) was required in the 8th grade before moving on to high school, at least in my school district.

There are several high school trap shooting teams in MN. A student has to have already passed firearms training to try out for the team. Most kids do that by age 12.

I went to public school in Wisconsin. In 1971, I took Hunter Safety in school. Brought a rifle on the bus, kept it in my locker.
This would be discouraged now.

They’re against gun safety? Well well whadda know?! Maybe this is part of the reason the big cities they control are so dangerous.. I think gun safety and basic marksmanship should begin in about the third or fourth grade. By the time the kids reach high school they’re already in gangs anyway. ( same theory as “sex Ed.” - to help the kids prepare for adult life)

You are right exactly.
They should not have a gun safety course in high school, but in elementary school in 1st grade.

Our HS kids have been enjoying competitive shooting for decades.
The gear can get pricey. Especially if you are looking for a college/athletic scholarship.

No, Gun Safety is PERFECTLY appropriate for High Schoolers.
What is Inappropriate is lying to grade school kids about sexual confusion so that the perverts have easier access to molest YOUR children.
