“Does not recall...” sending such messages? Uh, no. Anyone would “recall” doing so, unless one was liquored up at the time, and one would have to be pretty liquored up to not recall doing something like that.
He either did or didn’t and should say clearly “I did not” if he didn’t. Period. Anything less is claiming “is” doesn’t really mean “is”.
