Out-of-touch elites do not realize the gravity of what thy are trying to (and probably will) do - they haven't thought it through.

Yes, the in-your-face "your vote doesn't mean a damn thing" position that they're taking means we'll have to rub them out - or become slaves.
The major political parties in this country are simply ‘dance partners’. The Dems lead the dance and push the country leftward. The Pubs get in there only when the Dem agenda is temporarily unpopular, but do they ever ‘lead’? No. They just mark time until the Dems get back in. It’s a ratcheting effect. The reason the elites are so po-ed is because a majority of Republican-voters gave Trump the nomination, and he was shrewd enough to peel off some Dem voters in neglected states. The dance has temporarily been derailed.
