AG Sessions Marijuana Task force: Dont mess with legal weed
Associated Press ^ | Aug 4, 2017

WASHINGTON (AP) — The betting was that law-and-order Attorney General Jeff Sessions would come out against the legalized marijuana industry with guns blazing. But the task force Sessions assembled to find the best legal strategy is giving him no ammunition, according to documents obtained by The Associated Press.

The Task Force on Crime Reduction and Public Safety, a group of prosecutors and federal law enforcement officials, has come up with no new policy recommendations to advance the attorney general’s aggressively anti-marijuana views. The group’s report largely reiterates the current Justice Department policy on marijuana.

I smoke daily for a condition that only pot seems to ease. But I would smoke it anyway. But I’m visiting my inlaws, sometimes for as long as a week, I don’t smoke. Same thing when we go camping. I leave it at home. Guess what? I sleep just as well. I suffer no withdrawal symptons. Granted, I have no studies to cite. Just my own personal experience that longterm pot use hasn’t adversely affected me. And I only speak for myself.

Uhhh.... I don’t smoke. May enjoy a cigarette once every six months or so, but that’s about it.

I do have a weakness though. My wife of 30+ years who looks fantastic. Now, do you have a point to make. Or are you just all about innane jibber jabber?

Yes, I believe it when you say you have no withdrawal symptoms on the days when you don’t smoke. I’ve spoken with many people who claimed to have smoked pot and just stopped without any struggle. I haven’t studied pot all that much, so I’ve only heard of one person who sought rehab for pot: Brian Cuban, Mark Cuban’s brother. Given that paltry sample of just one person who needed professional help to quit, it seems pot is easily quitable.

Glad you are respectful of others who don’t want to breath 2nd-hand pot smoke.

Let people buy it. But if they drive or get involved on other dangerous occupations while stoned nail their ass to the barn door.

Exactly, just like alcohol and other drugs...

Hi, lj. Folks can grow for personal use without permits in OR. Just saw that Coos County is gonna fund SCINT(South Coast interagency narc team) with marijuana tax monies.

Weak and unoriginal, but keep trying. Someday, you may be as cool as you are so desperately trying to be. You know, being one of the leaders of the ‘in’ crowd. Being the masterful manipulative pressurer of your peers. Getting everyone to conform to your battle cry of “Sieg, high!”

You can do it! We believe in you! Keep trying! It may happen for you someday. It just may happen.

Personal use is not 1, 5 or more acres of plants. With armed guards and dogs. More than personal use (don’t know how many are allowed for personal, a small amount) is ag and is illegal on land zoned RR-5. But hundreds and hundreds of grow ops are on RR-5 land, and stealing water from streams and creeks and rivers, without any water rights.

I have no idea what you’re jabbering about. You know, alcohol can be as dangerous as pot. Drink wisely!

They are not going on fact based reports just emotion driven ones, and the need for cities wanting more Tax $$, I’m seeing all this opioid crisis on gong in LSM AND EVEN SCIENCE MAGS, you might get out of the last a 1 liner that ILLEGAL DRUGS LACED WITH STOLEN OR FAKE FENYATAL is the cause of most OD’S.

According to Sam Quinones, Mexican “black tar” herion starting flowing into the U.S. in the late 80s and picked up speed in the early 90s, continuing to flow more and more steadily since then. A brief search led me to a document prepared for Congress last year: “Heroin Trafficking in the United States” (https://fas.org/sgp/crs/misc/R44599.pdf).

Page 5 shows a figure for heroin seizures (total and solely for the SW border) from 2006 to 2015. The levels were flat for the first couple of years, then rose steadily. Page 7 shows DEA heroin arrests for 200 through 2015: Arrests fell from 2001 to 2003, then were flat until 2008, after which came a steady rise.

In other words, the heroin problem has been around for decades, different administrations have taken various approaches. The one thing we can say with confidence is that no administration has found a viable long-term solution so far.

How many years have we heard MMJ is a gate way drug, might be for some, not all.

Language for patients with INTRACTABLE PAIN HAS TO BE CHANGED TO THAT, AS IT REFERS TO LIFE TIME PAIN FOR INCURABLE PAINFUL DISEASES.

Where as Chronic Pain is 3 months or less, having had torn ligaments and a trigger thumb repaired 2 months ago I got 30-—7.5 NORCO TABS, used 4 so I could sleep. PT is more painful than the dang surgery was, and no pain med for it, Ice Pack and Tylenol don’t cut it. And I tolerate pain higher than most people as I live with it 24/7/365 for degenerative spine.

Yep.

I’ve had to defend myself from drunks, I’ve had to repair damage to property caused by drunks, I’ve seen lives ruined by alcohol abuse. The worst I’ve ever seen any cannabis user do is blow off a semester of school or raid the fridge of my ice cream.

People who want it illegal, as with the prohibitionists of yore, are far more of a pain in the neck on an individual level and a danger to the Republic on a collective one than any abusers of any substance could ever be. Don’t like it- don’t use it, but STFU regarding what other people do unless they are behind a wheel or you are their employer.

Oh, you’ve got a problem, no doubt. I heard Oregon was producing 1.8 million pounds above what was being legally sold. That’s probably high, but still significant. I don’t think anything short of national decriminalizatoon stops that. That, and securing the border. I’m sure that there’s cartel influence, as they have an established distribution system. Seems like a couple of high profile raids would go a long way down there.

Prior to the Volstead Act, hard cider was more widely available than was potable water. Temperance Society busybodies made it their mission to save people from themselves. Somehow, the Republic survived both the layabouts and the buttinskis.

There are far more important things to go after. Far better ways for the Justice Department to spend their time and efforts. Prosecuting Democrat felons is a good place to start.

Who? Me? Well.....I......hmmmm.....I am not sure.....

That's.......a big decision.....one that I have to.....you know.....weigh and think about.....

I....I....am sorry....but I have to Recuse myself from this.......

Genesis 1:29 God also said: See, I give you every seed-bearing plant on all the earth and every tree that has seed-bearing fruit on it to be your food. God gave us the cannabis plant. It’s a seed baring plant. I’m thankful to God in Heaven for this plant as it has freed me from depression & anxiety since Feb 2015.

Name one 'civilized' society that survived on 'cream of cannabis' for breakfast. The key word is 'food', like wheat, corn, rice, etc... poison ivy is seed-bearing, do you eat/smoke it? There are numerous 'seed bearing plants' that are NOT fit for food, and some can cause death if eaten.

I’m sorry basic reading is difficult for you. So now I present to you the definition of the word “and” to help you understand this sentence from Sacred Scripture.

and:
1.used to connect words of the same part of speech, clauses, or sentences that are to be taken jointly.

Now with this in mind, let’s return to Gensis 1:29 & look at the use of the word “and” in this sentence.

“God also said: See, I give you every seed-bearing plant on all the earth AND every tree that has seed-bearing fruit on it to be your food.”

Our Heavenly Father gave us both seed bearing plants AND every tree that has fruit on it for us to eat.

Thanks for this opportunity to dust off my 6th grade English primer & have a peaceful night.

I read quite well, thank you very much... FOOD is the object of ‘seed-bearing plant’.... and ‘tree’... that has ‘seed-bearing fruit’... I have all manner of ‘seed-bearing ‘fruit’ trees in my yard ... the only ones that produce edible ‘fruit’ are the apple, mulberry, pecan, and walnut trees... I have never harvested the acorns from the varieties of oak trees... for food.

Again name one ‘civilized’ society in the whole of recorded history that served ‘cream of cannabis’ for breakfast. Nobody eats any part of the ‘weed’ to sustain the body. IT is what the ‘weed’ does to the ‘mind’, the only reason for consumption in any manner. And God never called that ‘food’.
