WASHINGTON (AP) — The betting was that law-and-order Attorney General Jeff Sessions would come out against the legalized marijuana industry with guns blazing. But the task force Sessions assembled to find the best legal strategy is giving him no ammunition, according to documents obtained by The Associated Press.
The Task Force on Crime Reduction and Public Safety, a group of prosecutors and federal law enforcement officials, has come up with no new policy recommendations to advance the attorney general’s aggressively anti-marijuana views. The group’s report largely reiterates the current Justice Department policy on marijuana.

I assume they mean like in OR where it’s legal to grow and I assume possess. BUT growers are by law supposed to apply for a permit and get a license to grow it and follow some kinds of rules.
Of course, 90-95% (or more) of growers don’t bother to get legal and so most of the dope grown in my and adjoining counties is still illegal and the state doesn’t get it vaunted tons of tax dollars either. LE does nothing. The crime rate is sky high and going up. So many people are sorry they voted for legalizing it. The problems legalization has caused are too many to list.
I have smoked pot in the past when the THC content was very low compared to now. I have known many pot smokers over the years, and I have done research into the short and long term effects of ingesting it.
It is a dangerous drug, and those who use habitually (which AFAIK are most users) are very adversely affected, to one degree or another, and one characteristic of them is they utterly refuse to admit that there is the slightest negative affect from it or from legalizing it.
I live in a state that legalized growing it and it is causing many, many problems. Murder rate up, car crashes and thefts up, property crime up, assaults up, most growers are not permitted, 80% of the permitted dope last season had too many prohibited chemicals in it to be legally sold in this state, illegal growers steal water and pollute waterways with the large amounts of ag chemicals they use (often illegal use) in residential areas which is against zoning. Many growers are total aholes who harass neighbors and break other laws since LE isn’t going after any of the illegal growers.
There are 100 permitted growers in this county. There are AT LEAST 1000 grows in my valley alone.
And the utopian theory that if mj is legalized, other drug use will go down?? Don’t make me laugh. Meth and heroin use way up.
