But the president also received some bad news: The Senate unanimously agreed to a move designed to block Trump from making any recess appointments while the Senate takes its summer break.

A unanimous vote against Pres. Trump? I could see this happening against Emperor Obama but not against Pres. Trump and especially from those Senate Republicans who claim to back him. Liars... traitors!

I can’t see it happening against the Kenyanesian Usurper.
The Democrats always voted with him.

Most of the Senate Republicans are really Democrats in R jerseys.

He can make recess appointments whether they say so or not.

It’s in the constitution, isn’t it?

They're actually helping Trump. Not that they meant to. There are a lot of problems with the staff, and not just Obama leftovers. This vacation is a great time to figure it out, look for overlaps of who had access to leaked information, and figure out who needs to go. It's better to not appoint anyone until President Trump can get rid of all of the coup members.

It'll send a strong message to anyone who gets signed up later. Besides that, it'll keep new employees away from coup scum infiltrating this administration. I just hope they do it. There's more than a handful of names we've been seeing for quite awhile, and they're still employed.

If they are staying open, they should stay open and vote on his nominations.

It’s not like they are opposed to his nominees. They are just horribly slow.

‘Unanimous consent’ is not the same as ‘unanimous vote’. No vote was taken. Probably only a couple senators were even in the building.

https://www.senate.gov/reference/glossary_term/unanimous_consent.htm

unanimous consent - A senator may request unanimous consent on the floor to set aside a specified rule of procedure so as to expedite proceedings.

If no Senator objects, the Senate permits the action, but if any one senator objects, the request is rejected.

Unanimous consent requests with only immediate effects are routinely granted, but ones affecting the floor schedule, the conditions of considering a bill or other business, or the rights of other senators, are normally not offered, or a floor leader will object to it, until all senators concerned have had an opportunity to inform the leaders that they find it acceptable.

Their action has zero force of law.

They are attempting to redefine his duties as if the President worked at the behest of Congress.

"Most of the Senate Republicans are really Democrats in R jerseys."

Then most of the Republicans are traitors.

Article II, Section 2, Clause 3 of the U.S. Constitution, which provides:

The President shall have Power to fill up all Vacancies that may happen
during the Recess of the Senate, by granting Commissions which shall expire
at the End of their next Session.

Remember the Senate did this to both GW Bush and Obama.

Is the POTUS’ Authority to make Recess Appointments a part of the Constitution? If so, the senators can go pound sand. There’s only one lawful way to modify the Constitution. Two-thirds of the States must ratify.
