Sen. Menendez Enters Third Year Facing Criminal Charges. Does Anyone Care?
U.S. News and World Report ^ | March 31, 2017 | Steven Nelson

Sen. Bob Menendez may call a federal prison home if prosecutors prove he accepted bribes to do favors for a wealthy businessman.

But you wouldn’t know that if you tuned in to Bloomberg TV last week to watch the New Jersey Democrat discuss a Securities and Exchange Commission nomination.

The reporter didn’t mention the case.

And there was nothing remarkable about the omission. Menendez regularly appears on cable news programs without viewers being told he faces felony corruption charges.

CNN’s Jake Tapper didn’t mention the prosecution during a 10-minute interview on March 13 that focused on health care policy. Nor did MSNBC’s Katy Tur in a March 3 interview about investigation of Russian actions during the 2016 presidential election.

Not really, Menendez’s crimes are small potatoes compared to the Clinton’s.

From the article: “The U.S. Senate is a big club. If one member is accused, all of the others fear they could be next.”

Yes, well, that IS the problem isn’t it?

They are running out the clock hoping a dem President will get elected to pardon him. One more reason they can’t get over President Trump winning.

Dems are corrupt down to their socks but they aren’t stupid and they have very good lawyers advising them who are also dem and corrupt down to their socks but know how to stay just inside the lines of law.

i thought the charges were brought by Dem BO to retaliate against Menendez’s stance on Iran deal and policy towards Israel in general. i don’t know if there is really a case - it looked like revenge prosecution. but i have lost the thread and defer to someone with more knowledge.

Charlie Rangel was found guilty on 11 of 13 counts of ethics violation by a House ethics committee subpanel. What happened to him? Nada! The Democrats are always given a pass on crimes because the Republicans have no balls to pursue charges, much like all the crimes committed by the Democrats that have surfaced this year alone and are being ignored.

He’s a Democrat politician, he’s expected to be a corrupt law breaker. I think it’s a requirement.

When the roll is called the Senators don’t know whether to answer “here” or “not guilty”.

Most politicians from Nu Joisy are pure scum like Magic Negro Booker, The Torch,The Laut,Corzslime and former Faggity Home Wrecker McGreedy. The list is endless. Trenton is a cesspool and South Jersey needs to exit below armpit Camden. I hate this state and can’t wait to go to a free state.

A common sentiment here in NJ - and the last generation of Americans here is taking heed, moving on to greener pastures. 20 years ago I could still see many people I’d grown up/gone to school with; now so many have evacuated. The economic collapse in the northeast has driven out the best & brightest, and keeps others from coming...
