This might have some promise. It says that DOJ is looking into subpoenaing reporters who receive the classified material. Now, imagine what could be done here. Subpoena every single reporter who has printed illegal leaks over the past 7 months. There are probably several hundred. All of them, to a person, will refuse to testify over a non-existent reporter privilege. They are all in fact conspirators to espionage and to a scheme to subvert the constitution.
But be that as it may, even if they aren’t prosecuted themselves, they are required to testify about people who did the leaking. And when they don’t, what happens? They all go to jail for contempt. Imagine. Half the staff of the Wapo and NYT in jail for months and months. No computer access, limited visitation. That would be like a vacation.

Never happen. subpoenas not needed. Get the Reporter who posted the transcripts of Trumps conversations with Foreign Leaders. That is Classified information. No need to wait for Contempt. They could be in Federal lockup and then Prison as early as today. Nobody has the guts to do anything.
You perfectly summarized what I would do. Put these reporters who refuse to testify into confinement until they talk. It might even stop the leaking.
