The company has acquired the tiny burg of Nipton, California, for about $5 million and plans to invest as much as $2.5 million over the next 18 months to create a pot-friendly tourist destination. The purchase includes 120 acres of land with a general store, a hotel, a school building and mineral baths.

American Green, based in Tempe, Arizona, will use the existing structures and build new ones — powered by renewable energy — to revitalize the town, said project manager Stephen Shearin. Ideally, the outpost will spawn imitators, he said.

When California secedes and becomes it’s own country, Nipton would be a perfect capital! Of course they will apply for Federal aid-but then, we can extend the Wall. :-D

This should work as well as the commune culture of the '60s and '70s did.

Some folks got money to burn on crazy projects like this one.

I expect in a few months the town will be up for sale again.

Looking on the map, it’s just a stones throw from the Nevada border a ways south of I-15 heading into Las Vegas, and if you proceed on eastward the first Nevada “town” you come to is Searchlight, NV a nice little collection of whorehouses and the main residence of former US Senator, Harry Reid ( in reality, just another one of the whorehouses when you think about it for a minute).

Over 250 miles to SOCAL, 75 miles from Vegas. Pot is legal in CA and NV, so why would anybody drive those distances to light up? This ain’t like going to a NASCAR race.

You would think Humbolt County would be more attractive. Guess it will grow equally well anywhere.

100 degree days are a big draw.
Get stoned, splash around in a mineral bath, have a few beers, get a dose. Sounds like college
