How liberals think they’re helping anyone by keeping them on welfare is beyond me. Welfare makes sure your life will be a disaster.
The ones in charge know the truth. But when they scream hysterically about "helping people," too many liberal rank-and-file actually believe them.
The welfare is a huge cost. I wonder what the crime costs are, on top of that?
It is all about buying votes.
The welfare provides primarily for the women and children, so the males have to find work in the black market (mainly the drug trade, as well as theft/robbery). Welfare breeds crime...
It’s not just about buying votes. It’s about making a segment of the population dependent and removing any incentive to better their lives.
The welfare class believes that the Democrats really care about them and make sure they have what they need to survive. Mean Republicans will take away their welfare and they will starve. The fact that if they worked and became self-sufficient, they would not have to depend on the Democrats to survive never enters their minds. (I know this culture; I was raised in this culture. It was incredibly difficult to rise above it.)
The best disincentive to welfare is the very real possibility you’ll be burying your children because of the violent environment. Liberals love welfare because it gives them a growing stream of “clients” (read: human livestock) to administer - at very lucrative salaries in secure jobs.

Been a police officer for 296 years and counting... I can tell you a cost that goes unnoticed... that would be the insurance payouts that are made because of people driving without being licensed... hit and run etc... it is commonplace to work crashes where one person doesn’t speak English. Has no license or insurance, the car is improperly registered... and/or the person flees the scene... for one or all the above reason... hence the victims inurance has to pay the claim under “uninsured motorists,”. And those victims that are able to only carry liability? Thy are screwed...

THE US GOVT CASH HAUL IS HUGE cashing multiple US govt checks under several identities in all off these categories:
UI, SSI, Workmen's Comp,
TANF (temporary assistance to needy families),
WICS (food assistance),
subsidized Section 8 shelter,
ObamaPhone subsidies,
Utility Assistance subsidies,
School breakfasts/lunches/snacks subsidies,
$5000 a year EITC checks per identity.
Not to mention falsifying EBT apps claiming "need"---buying non-food items w/ tax dollars.
Falsifying sub-prime mtg apps---flipping the houses among themselves for a big profit---then skipping town---leaving the banks holding the bag.
And on and on and on...ad infinitum, ad nauseaum.
