Grand jury subpoenas have been issued in connection with the June 2016 meeting between Donald Trump Jr., a Russian lawyer and others, two sources familiar with the matter told Reuters on Thursday.

The sources also said special counsel Robert Mueller had convened a grand jury in Washington to investigate allegations of Russia’s interference in the 2016 elections.

The grand jury began its work in recent weeks and is a sign that Mueller's inquiry into Russia's efforts to influence the election and whether it colluded with President Donald Trump's campaign is ramping up, the Journal said.

Waist of money, who's budget is paying, what office , Sessions? Ultimately the tax payer is on the hook for this... How can anybody be allowed to spend our money , with no accountability, no constraints on funding or schedule,,, this is outrageous why is there no financial oversight ? Personally I believe Trump JR. would do a great job in front of a grand jury educating the public.
He is a very sharp guy.
The optics will look worse for the prosecutors than the Trump campaign.
This is what I believe the administration is banking on.
Mueller would have been gone otherwise.

Any individual subpoenaed to testify before a grand jury can take the 5th (at least as to oral testimony; producing documents is a more complicated question). As a lawyer, I always advise my clients to do so, regardless of whether they have done anything wrong or not. The only way someone can be required to testify is if they're granted immunity.

This grand jury move was a pre-emptive attack by the deep state swamp (it makes it practically impossible for Mueller to be canned now).

Once DWS / IT-gate / GPS-Fusion-gate hit the fan, there will be dueling special counsels.

Meanwhile, Middle America will watch closely. We have enough common sense to spot BS witch hunts.

I see and this follows the story that Trump dictated Jr’s public statement. Mueller is coordinating with the WasPos. Gee Trump maybe you should have fired Mueller and Rosenstein 3 months ago when you still could have.
