WASHINGTON Two members of the Senate Judiciary Committee are moving to protect Special Counsel Robert Mueller's job, putting forth new legislation that aims to ensure the integrity of current and future independent investigations.
Republican Sen. Thom Tillis of North Carolina and Democratic Sen. Chris Coons of Delaware plan to introduce the legislation Thursday. The bill would allow any special counsel for the Department of Justice to challenge his or her removal in court, with a review by a three-judge panel within 14 days of the challenge.
The bill would apply retroactively to May 17, 2017 the day Mueller was appointed by Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein to investigate allegations of Russian meddling in the 2016 election and possible ties between Russia and Donald Trump's campaign.

Not going to sit well with those who put him in office, he should remember what happened to Renée Elmers.
Of course the beltway pigs in Congress won’t invite Mueller to a hearing to discuss his obvious conflicts of interest. A little sunshine goes a long way. Obviously, they want POTUS investigated. These Senate “Republicans” are pathetic beyond words leaving a GOP POTUS bare as to the wind. I’ve never been more disgusted with the GOP. And that says a lot.
As I said earlier last month, around my birthday we were going to see some things come out and they have been drip, drip, dripping for about a week and a half now...by Sept. things should be ready to load the bomb and then all heck will break loose...
I'm on the Trump Train, pepsi max; unsalted chips and got my computer and buckled in, I wouldn't miss this ride for love or money!!!
Integrity and Robert Mueller don’t belong in the same sentence. not even the same paragraph.
If I were Trump I would call the Republican congress in and throw down on them and ask if they want an open war on them from the White House across the board. They can explain why they are supporting the Democrat agenda day in and day out.
This is a coup and the Republican party is eye ball deep in the middle of it against a duly elected president. If I were Trump I would fire Mulehead and be done with it and Sessions as well. The establishment has through hook and crook got anyone who could stop this coup to recuse themselves. Time for this crap to stop. McMasters also needs to have his butt fired and I would hand him a copy of his own book and suggest he read it when I fired him if I were Trump.
They can try, but you have to get up real early in the morning to pull anything over on Our President...
Have Faith Rita...we supported him, we voted him into office, now have faith he knows what he is doing, he hasn’t let us down yet!!!
...not even in the same article!!!...
Sick evil bastards.
He needs to be primaryed, along with Burr. Both are weak d!cks.
I hear you on that...Utah has it just as bad...Mike Lee (RINO) and the reason we are keeping Orrin Hatch is to keep Egg McMuffin OUT!!!
I’m of the mind that says if the Democrats agree to something a veto proof majority will always exists as long as Trump is our President. Screw the Repukes!
We supported Tillis against Hagan but with this he proves more a Democrat than she is and I just left him a message to that effect!
I look forward to the day when karma or justice catches up to these deep state senators. The number of which seems to grow daily. I’m envisioning a scene out of Game of Thrones with pikes by the gate.
28 CFR 600.1 governs special-counsel appointments by the Justice Department. The relevant part: The Attorney General, or in cases in which the Attorney General is recused, the Acting Attorney General, will appoint a Special Counsel when he or she determines that criminal investigation of a person or matter is warranted (emphasis added)
Rosenstein's authorization to Mueller cites Comey, "The Special Counsel is authorized to conduct the investigation confirmed by then-FBI Director James B. Corney in testimony before the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence on March 20, 2017..."
Cormey made clear in his testimony before the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence on March 20, 2017, the investigation was a counterintelligence investigation, not a criminal investigation.

Yep, Trump should fire Mueller and Sessions. They threaten impeachment but on what grounds that he fired an illegal prosecutor and his own AG?
When the spineless congress leadership declare they don’t have the votes, demand the names... with the promise to fire them during the next primary. They may not like Trump, but none of them wants to face his wrath during an election.
Candidate Trump move through the campaign, he let all the candidates hang themselves...which they did...
EVOKE TIPPY-TOES
Remeber how snarky Jeb bush was oh!
Traitors.

Better to announce an endowed “Trump Foundation”. Headed by Don Junior. With the implied threat it will be heavily supporting 3rd Party Candidates if the GOPe does not respect the will of the voters and play ball.
