There’s a reason why this country was built on the success of colonial militias that were basically paramilitary organizations whose leaders were very hesitant to put much trust in the wisdom of government bureaucrats.
Kind of the way it seems Afghanistan seems to be destined - carved into fiefdoms run by warlords with no permanent loyalty to any central authority
They can choose to ally with the taliban or take them down if they cross the tribal authorities - they can also deal with ISIS interlopers
Question of the day: when was Afghanistan ever NOT a failed state?
If the answer is never then all we need is a geopolitical strategy of containing their miserable failed country so they cant damage us or our interests
If Russia China Iran and Pakistan want the role - go for it
