NBC is getting ready to roll up the pastel blazer sleeves, as the network is developing a Miami Vice reboot with Vin Diesel and Chris Morgans production companies.
Peter Macmanus (Spikes The Mist) is writing the script, and executive producers have not been solidified.

Fail!
Can’t Hollyweird come up with something like Andy Griffith or I Love Lucy?
A gay Crockett and Tubbs battling climate change, pythons and bath salts.
No thank-you.
They don’t like to repeat themselves. /s
Further proof Hollywood has run out of original ideas, and just recycles old ones....................
I disliked the original show and won’t be watching the remake. Also, that show made the stubble faced look on guys cool and we’ve been stuck with that scroungy look ever since. Barf.
It ain’t stubble that’s the problem today. It’s all these faggy hipster douches sporting ridiculous Civil War beards as if to compensate for their profound lack of masculinity.
I hope it is a decent reboot. Was one of my 80s favs and in reruns albeit so dated now to be laughable.
I asked my wife what is next? How about the Rifleman. The moralistic message from that show would be great in today’s smut pit TV environment.
>> faggy hipster douches sporting ridiculous Civil War beards
LOL. I am stealing that phrase!
Just saw an old rerun of this show on Fuse TV or something last week that culminated in Bill Russell shooting Cosmo Kramer. Not sure what Vin Diesel will do with that.
[Its all these faggy hipster douches sporting ridiculous Civil War beards as if to compensate for their profound lack of masculinity.]
They’ve completely destroyed the bearded image. Coupled with a “man bun” the destruction is complete.
TV, like the movies, is largely incapable of original thought right down to the title. I know, one of the heros can have super powers and the other can be transsexual.
I liked Miami Vice, for a few years. It just wasn’t a show that could sustain a long life span. For a re-boot to be relevant for the times like MV was, they’d have to be hunting down illegals, not drug lords. How will they manage that? Probably won’t. I can’t see it lasting more than one season....
Yes, the man bun as the accoutrement of the Faggy Hipster Bearded Douche (often with their hair shaved on the sides)... which has displaced the former “Sensitive Mr. Pony Tail Man” of the ‘90s. You remember the ball-less puke who was at one of the ‘92 (or was it ‘96) Presidential Debates demanding that the President be Big Daddy and the masses be “his children.” The Republican should’ve walked up to him and started slapping him like Brando did to Johnny Fontane in “The Godfather”... “YOU CAN ACT LIKE A MAN !”
Every time I see one of these fags (even if they’re not gay, they’re still fags) I just want to slap them.
Wasn’t there already a Miami Vice remake?
I think it didn’t do too well.
NBC out of ideas.
Typically, the goal is to come up with shows that people will watch and as much as FReepers seem to think there is a market for wholesome 1950s-style family entertainment, ratings tell a different story.
Here are IMDB's 20 Most Popular TV Series:
Let's see; sex, drugs, gay sex, explicit nudity, graphic violence, foul language. Nothing remotely resembling I Love Lucy or Andy Griffith.
But this is what people (including myself and many other Trump-voting conservatives on this forum) are watching.
I agree about the ugly beards.
Just like Hawaii 5-0? That show is going into its 7th season. A reboot can work especially if Vin Diesel does it right.
