Make Congress Live by the Rules They Pass
MSNBC | Aug 2, 2017 | Quote

Posted on 08/02/2017 6:50:25 PM PDT by econjack

Trump is threatening to go after congressional health insurance and make them subject to their own legislation.

Senator Chuck Schumer warned, “If the president refuses to make the cost-sharing reduction payments, every expert agrees that premiums will go up and health care will be more expensive for millions of Americans. The president ought to stop playing politics with people’s lives and health care, start leading and finally begin acting presidential.

Once this is run through the Schumer Translation Device, or STD, which accurately decodes statements by the New York senator, we get the actual Schumer quote, “If the president refuses to cave like a good Republican, and cuts off the low insurance rates we legislated for ourselves, every member of my staff agrees that premiums will go up for them and I will actually have to pay for my own health care as if I was one of the little people! This is outrageous! I am a senator! I am your god! The president ought to acknowledge our superior status, do as he’s told, and finally begin acting like sniveling Republicans have for decades.”

Sadly, the GOP has no spine, so this will likely be the way it is.

It’s not that they have no spine. It’s that they’re democrats.

"If the president refuses to make the cost-sharing reduction payments"

Remember when Democrats claimed Obamacare was a free market solution? Those were good times. Now Democrats demand subsidies. The "free market" lie was as big as the "you can keep your doctor" lie. I wish Dems would be called out on that more often.

Didn’t Obamacare put this choice in the hands of the president?

Didn't it get done in 1995?

The Contract with America was a document released by the United States Republican Party during the 1994 Congressional election campaign. Written by Newt Gingrich and Dick Armey, and in part using text from former President Ronald Reagan's 1985 State of the Union Address, the Contract detailed the actions the Republicans promised to take if they became the majority party in the United States House of Representatives for the first time in 40 years.

On the first day of their majority in the House, the Republicans promised to bring up for vote, eight major reforms:

1. require all laws that apply to the rest of the country also apply to Congress;

Would be karma if Mcstain was required to use the VA hospital in Phoenix for his brain problem. They are notorious for killing vets.

It started out as The Democratic-Republican Party (Founded 1791 by Thomas Jefferson and James Madison). They are simply trying to reunite that old original party.

Or so it seems at times.

The president ought to stop playing politics with people’s lives and health care, start leading and finally begin acting presidential.

I'm always amused whenever a highly political politician denounces another politician of "playing politics" .. as if their own "cause" is above politics.
