Australia has a critical shortage of climate scientists, leaving it at serious risk of not delivering essential climate and weather services to groups like farmers, coastal communities and international organisations, a report has found.

The report into the nation’s climate science capability by the Australian Academy of Science found the climate science workforce needed to grow by 77 full-time positions over the next four years, with 27 of those positions urgently required.

The Australian Academy of Science’s investigation was prompted by the CSIRO announcement in 2016 that the research agency was going to sack about 100 climate scientists – a number later reduced to about 40.

The report found the areas most in need of investment were general climate modelling, climate observations and climate services, which help industry and the community access information produced by scientists.

Can we send them some (or all) of ours? We’ll even throw in Al Gore and Bill Nye the (Junk) Science Guy for good measure.

Serious risk of not being saturated by fraudulent propaganda and not being subject to crippling economic regulations.

To be eligible for Climate Scientist jobs requires good writing skills and a lifetime subscription to Mother Jones. Actual training in Climate Science is discouraged and could easily be a deal killer when job hunting.

Climatology is not a legitimate science. They need meteorologists.

I’ve heard Australia also has a serious shortage of Alchemist.

They had better get hot on hiring some of these vital scientific experts.

I always view Engineering v. Science at the cusp of 1% of accuracy of prediction.

The Mann of the State Penn et. al. are not even within engineering prediction capability.

Snakes they are.

Shortage of what?
Faked data?
Poor analysis of the faked data?
Models that have NEVER proven correct?
Predictions that are laughable?

Yeah, Oz, you folks really need that.

So let us say that the oceans are rising. In that case of what earthly good would a climate scientist be? What you would need would be engineers and agriculture experts, etc. Climate scientists would add nothing.
