Thanks for the tip. Did a little reading and it is not clear that Sater was ever an employee of Trump. Obviously he knew him. He was an employee of Bayrock when deals were being worked on a decaade or so ago. For New Yorkers this is old news. Seems to me if there was anything bad going on the feds would have caught it back then(2007).
Sater is a murkey character. Has been a CI under Lynch, been a CIA asset, etc. Jody Kriss lawyer claims he was allowed to go on criminal rampages.
He claims that Trump knew he was an informant.
Some docs of his have been recently been unsealed but I haven’t looked at them.
Sater was clearly doing business with Trump. The question they will be looking at is whether it is just a licensing of the name...or much more influence than that..such as looking at the debacle in Azerbaijan
They have a right to look at it. I don’t know whether they will find anything. I really really doubt Manafort is clean. Just look at the texts of his daughter. He would be a wonderful “get” if they could flip him. Of course, the characters he has associated are so bad..he might not flip to stay alive. And keep his family alive.
