They lived in the NYC (Manhattan) Financial District. Their kids went to a school that cost $30,000 a year.
I pay my own health care and have a really good one from a major companythat costs $2K a month. Not cheap but not worth jumping off a bldg.
All they had to do was MOVE. Especially from that armpit of the USA.
They had serious debt, tax and financial problems going back nearly 2 decades.
It wasn’t only about current expenses, though obviously they reached the end of their tether. It’s difficult to believe they could not find a better path forward. Move, downsize, regroup.
