WASHINGTON President Donald Trump collaborated with Fox News to concoct a story claiming Democratic National Committee staffer Seth Rich was killed in retaliation for furnishing information damaging to Hillary Clinton to WikiLeaks, according to a lawsuit by a private investigator for the slain mans family.
Rod Wheeler the investigator, a former Washington police detective and an occasional Fox News contributor claims in his lawsuit that the president read the Fox story before it was published and suggested the insertion of quotes falsely attributed to Wheeler supporting the storys premise. Trump wanted the story published to divert attention from the widening investigation into his campaigns ties to Russia, Wheeler claims.
Rich, 27, a graduate of Omaha Central High School and Creighton University, was fatally shot in the early hours of July 10, 2016, outside his home in Washington, D.C. His parents, Joel and Mary Rich, live in Omaha.
The complaints first paragraph includes a screen shot of a May 14 text message to Wheeler from another Fox News contributor that reads: Not to add any more pressure but the president just read the article. He wants the article out immediately. Its now all up to you. but dont feel the pressure.
The story was published May 16 and later retracted by the network, according to the complaint.

Wheeler is Black and he’s no Bo Dietl!
Whats with all these threads on this story quoting a law suit claim from “news” outlets that are notoriously tabloid-ish.
This could really backfire because of something called notice pleading and the discovery process . . .
There’s also this, from NPR:
Behind Fox News’ Baseless Seth Rich Story: The Untold Tale
silly
Rod Wheeler is dumber than I thought.
Wait...Russian “collusion” is a dead story. So now it’s time for Trump colluded to make Democrats look guilty of Russian collusion?
Warren Buffett now owns this newspaper.
Wow.....looks like the lib media narrative memo email was sent out early, this morning, from the 0Commie/Jarrett compound.
LOL....now Trump colluding w/FoxNews.
These folks just won’t quit their nonsense spreading.
This is a set up rod wheeler just tweeted that Debbie blabber mouth it problem is connected to Seth rich. It will force a more thorough investigation...
Key words in title: “lawsuit claims”
Dont believe these Lying Leftist Media outlets that proved themselves during the 2016 campaign to be operatives of the DNC and intentional liars. They are presumed to be lying and we should presume what they publish is a lie. The presumption can only be rebutted with the outlet providing clear and convincing evidence they are not lying.
We should be mostly publishing the truth on FR, not the lies, and as much good news as possible to bolster morale. We should find and post reliable sources that have already deconstructed the lie and replaced it with the truth and with a headline that says the truth. We need much more of that on FR IMO. The key is the headline and the first few sentences because not everyone has time to drill down. The endless stream of negative, lying headlines sabotages our purpose IMO.
Obviously the story is gaining traction if a lawsuit and a disinformation campaign is being launched on this scale. Soros anyone?
Wheeler is looking for a big payday.
Fox will settle out for a nice sum.
But Seth Rich is still dead and somebody killed him....................
SO
You can really make this stuff up!!
So the evidence is a screen shot from a Fox News contributor who doesn’t work for the President.
Okayyyyyyy...
I think what we may have here is the modern equivalent of blinking T-O-R-T-U-R-E in Morse code.
Is Wheeler doing this to put himself in the spotlight and perhaps dissuade an assassin from hitting a higher profile target than planned? The history of people who know things the Clintons don’t want other people to know is long and bloody.
He may be trying to force some peoples’ hands with DISCOVERY......................
That headline will steal the spotlight away from the wasserman schultz story. They hope...
