President Trump said he's proud the Olympics are coming back to the United States "for the first time in a generation" after the Los Angeles bid for the 2028 games was accepted Monday.

Agreed. With or without the Olympics, L.A. already has plans to spend many billions on transportation infrastructure. The venues are already for the most part there.
I believe Paris and Los Angeles got the next two Olympics because nobody else wanted them. Hardly a win.
LA, yeah, could not happen to a more deserving city and state.
Wasteful mess of corruption and cheating, but it certainly fits Los Angeles.
And the next Olympics are in Tokyo. Tokyo, Paris and LA have all hosted the Games before. I suspect from here on out, the IOC is going to stick with cities that have already hosted the Games.
The 1984 LA Olympics were a total success.
I suspect they've had enough of third-world and borderline third-world countries like Greece and Brazil bidding for the games and screwing them up.
Because the cheating Commies weren't there.

What isn’t being said is that the Olympic Committee is probably really happy to hold it in the US is *security*.
For all the ill that can be said against the US Intelligence-Police-Military state, because of their turning on the American public; when they are doing their job *properly*, against foreign and foreign-domestic threats, they can be damned good.
The screening at LAX will be a hundred times tighter than anything done by the pathetic TSA, yet will almost all be invisible. Other ports of entry and the borders will be as tight as a drum head. With advanced radiation sensors as well.
The Coast Guard activity will be intense with the US Navy just outside their perimeter looking for anything below the water.
And I would hazard to guess that many mosques will be getting new worshipers at least six months before the games.
If BLM or Antifa cut up rough, they are likely to spend at least a month in the jug, if they are lucky.
Probably have to rename it...
