Sacramento’s light rail operator has installed 14 surveillance cameras and made other safety improvements at the North Highlands station where a deputy was shot in the face last month during a scuffle on the station platform.

I have read the Sacramento Bee before. I don’t believe a word they say about anything. It’s a communist newspaper, so even if they say safety improvements were made, it is automatically suspect.
Light rail is totally safe.
Unless you choose to use it.
that station is at a hub of crime (drugs, prostitution, etc) and unsafe even during the day.

Right. My 13 year old girl was whistled at and subject to lewd comments by a homeless man at a public library. Police said no real crime had occurred unless he propositions her, touches her, or tries to abduct her. They said they could not even ask him to leave the front of the library. He had been arrested for camping there but the case was not prosecuted. Even after being questioned by police, he did not leave. It is stuff like this that snowballs into bigger stuff.
What kind of rounds do they fire ?

Face it. Most urban minority dominated areas that are no go zones for most people. Part of the problem is the handcuffing of police and politically correct reporting that hides the unpleasant truth.
Public transportation gives me the heebie jeebies. I avoid it vigorously.
Oh for the good old days when there were VAGRANCY LAWS! They kept the museums free and libraries clear of bums until the libs did away with them. Then the bums rushed the free museums, so now you have to pay to go in, then they flooded the libraries fouling up the chairs and lounges. A local BIG library was infested with BED BUGS and closed by these vagrants.
So a thirteen year old girl can’t enter the library without being subjected to that. Shame.
More gun-free zone signs.
Libraries are not safe for children. It has been that way for a while.
