Chicago Tribune Offended by DOJ’s Use of Term ‘Illegal Alien’
Breitbart ^ | 31 Jul 2017 | Bob Price

Posted on 07/31/2017 7:37:08 AM PDT by Cheerio

The Chicago Tribune is offended by the Department of Justice (DOJ) and Attorney General Jeff Sessions’ use the term “illegal alien” when discussing sanctuary cities.

“In a democracy that values the rule of law, word choice is important, especially when those words come from voices of authority,” the Chicago Tribune wrote.

The Tribune is correct in what they said, but not in what they meant. Word choice is important, which is why the DOJ and the attorney general use the most legally accurate term when discussing illegal immigration and sanctuary cities.

“Alien” is a term used by the federal government to designate a person in the United States from a foreign country. The Internal Revenue Service defines an alien as “an individual who is not a U.S. citizen or U.S. national.” The same document defines “immigrant,” “nonimmigrant,” and “illegal alien.” Their definition for illegal alien is “an alien who has entered the United States illegally and is deportable if apprehended or an alien who entered the United States legally but now has fallen ‘out of status’ and is deportable.”

Score another hit to the old stream media, who still believe they are credible. The libtards have controlled the language to position their propaganda agenda.

Get used to it. You’ll hear it a lot more often.

If the tribune doesn’t like “illegal alien”, perhaps they would be happier with Criminalien.

well the Chicago Tribune offends me often, so then we’re even.

If the criteria are that someone is offended, heck, we more conservative type are offended every day by the MSM. So if the Tribune is offended, heck, I’m offended by them. So what’s their point???

Illegal alien is the correct term for fraudulently documented foreigners.
All of the other euphemisms that the Ministry of Propaganda uses are to obfuscate that they are indeed illegal aliens.

They are not undocumented, they have many documents, all fraudulent.

They are not immigrants, they did not apply to be immigrants.

They are not Americans, they are every nationality you can think of, but mostly Mexican, El Salvadoran, Guatemalan, Honduran.

Ok...not illegal aliens.

We can call them criminal invaders instead.

But the Tribune has worked so hard pretending to be credible.

Sure, they created their own in-house polling operation to craft polls to ensure tailored results but they later spun it off a a separate entity and then changed the name from Tribune Research to Pew Research, but why not let bygones be bygones?

Liberals/progressives must control everything. That control extends to debasing the English language. Alien has more meanings than an invader from Mars. Illegal aliens it is!

Your city streets are literally flowing with blood, much of it involving ILLEGAL ALIENS and you are more concerned with names and labels?

I agree with the Chicago Tribune! In fact, I’d go much further.
I demand that:

Bank robbers be called “unexpected visitors”.
Shoplifters be called “buy now, pay never customers”.
Habitual liars be called “Democrats”.

I’d list more, but it’s time for my nap.

And not offended by Democrats releasing from jail deportable criminal aliens that go on to rape 65 year old women.

Somewhere, the late Colonel McCormick, who thought Herbert Hoover a bit too liberal, must be mourning what his flagship newspaper has become.

Well, its a damn site better than “hydrated dorsums”.

:)

And wholly justified. They object because it threatens their narrative of happy hardworking “undocumented workers or immigrants”.

So the rule of law is important but not important enough to deport people here illegally.

I remember some years ago when an opinion writer for the Raleigh News & Observer wanted to call illegal aliens “guests in our country”. I prefer wetbacks myself, but alien invaders is good.
