There are rumblings Attorney General Sessions will take a lateral move
We received word on this at Gateway Pundit earlier today.
As hot Beltway rumors go, this one is extra spicy, but doesnt appear to have very much meat on the bone. It started with an anonymously sourced story from Politico which claimed department staffers were suggesting that Jeff Sessions might be moved over from the Attorney General slot to replace departing General John Kelly at Homeland Security. Given all the scrutiny Sessions has been under, paired with conservative pushback against the idea of his being fired, its easy to see how this might look tempting to President Trump at least in theory. Fox News runs down the potential scenario which could play out.
Could Attorney General Jeff Sessions end up at the Department of Homeland Security?
Its an idea some political observers have been debating after President Trump announced Friday that John Kelly, who leads the department, would replace Reince Priebus as White House chief of staff
Dana Perino, the former White House press secretary under George W. Bush, argued such an arrangement could placate conservatives who would be outraged if Sessions was ousted from the administration.
Lindsey Graham (R-SC) expressed his disapproval over the idea that Sessions may move to the DHS in a series of tweets. In his first tweet he said, AG Jeff Sessions has a good ring to it. Highly qualified, committed to the rule of law, tough on crime, and fiercely independent.

First I had heard that.
Sessions may have no choice, Either SHS or go home.
Who knows at this point!
Maybe he could run for his old seat.
If true, Cleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeever!
Yep. I don’t like sessions. He’s part of the swamp.
Scott Pruitt. He's a tough guy who will be willing to fire Mueller and his motley crew of Democrat lawyers.
That one is the best idea I have heard all day.
All in DC should read FR. We had so many Cruziacs and we beat them bloody.. Including personally being banned till I did an official apology to Jim. Lets hope they have their issues worked out and this place can go back to 10,000 rpm. (It has been a dog of late even with 20 and 20 although you could run it from a 486. Text is tiny and db... well you can very easily scale. )
LOL-then Cruz could run the EPA
PeRINO is a dolt. This Conservative would be ecstatic if Sessions was thrown out on his ear.
It's the double-crossing, forked-tongue moderate 'pukes and demonicRATS who would feign outrage.
Sure... Let’s start all the confirmation crap all over again so the dems can really do it right.
This would be a very bad move and I expect it’s BS. It may have been put out there as a diversion. You never know.
Let’s hope Trump and his crew have a lot of good stuff up their sleeves and are playing their opponents in the media, along with the elected dems, like a cat would play with a mouse before dispatching it.
Whatever it takes to MAGA
That alone would be worth a lot of popcorn while watching the dem heads- particularly Chuckie - EXPLODE
The senate judiciary committee chairman said its schedule is totally full for the next session so it has no room for another AG nomination/confirmation process. End of story. It ain’t happening.
thank you.
“It puts Rosenstein, probably a never trumper, in the drivers seat until a new AG is sworn in.”
******
Sessions could move and a new AG appointed when Congress is in recess in August...The swearing in of the recess appointment could take place immediately to prevent Rosenstain from taking the reins. Sessions to also fire Rosenstain on his way out the door to DHS.
Sessions weakened his position as AG when he recused himself.
Step down???? No way. Sessions is all up in the illegal immigration stuff. This is his wheelhouse. Build that wall under him? Hell yes. He will be a hero forever.
Now all we need is a rat assed bastard to prosecute Clinton Inc. Sekalow anyone?
