Okay, its not exactly an apology tour because he spoke the words while on U.S. soil. But it was an apology for America by Trump Secretary of State Rex Tillerson while standing alongside Mexican Foreign Secretary Luis Videgaray Caso and Mexican Secretary of Government Miguel Angel Osorio Chong on Thursday during a press conference at the State Department.
Speaking about the illicit drug trade while holding his hand over his chest for several seconds as a symbol of admitted guilt, Trump Secretary of State Rex Tillerson argued that Mexicos organized crime problem is the fault of the Unites States and that the American people need to own up to it:
We know what we own, and we as Americans need to confront that we are the market. There is no other market for these activities it is all coming here. But for us, Mexico wouldnt have the trans-criminal organized crime problem and the violence that theyre suffering. And we really have to own up to that. Granted, the U.S. buys more drugs from Mexico than any other country in the world. But to tie that to making America fully responsible for their organized drug problem and suffering is a huge stretch one that we would expect to hear from an America-hating leftist.
Im old enough to remember former President Barack Obama and Secretary of State John Kerry constantly apologizing to foreign countries for the U.S. and back then in the good old days it was called an apology tour and certainly unpatriotic.

DRUGS ARE NOT COOL!
We shouldn’t be getting drugs from there, a good reason for an enforced border. Then, abusers of drugs should be heavily penalized as well.
Apologized for US? Fire him!!!
There is validity to the argument. One can reasonably assert that our nations attitudes towards addictions and drugs have contributed to the misery elsewhere. You cannot have one without the other.
There’s actually some truth to this. Without our pourous borders and funds flowing from the US to Mexico for drugs and other things, the cartels would largely starve.
President Trump (I still am not tired of writing those words) is trying to stop at least the former. Gee, wonder why the corrupt D and sadly R politicians are so intent on taking him down?

He may not have always been one, but it happens to everyone who enters Foggy Bottom.
In the law, drug providers and traffickers are universally considered more culpable than drug users.
“See a need, fill a need.”
Build the wall. By the way Mexico has been corrupt for the longest time.
Tillerson’s a dumbass.
Drug problem is purely supply and demand. Can’t just cut off the supply with soaring demand. The invisible hand always finds its ways. Can’t fool the mother nature and can’t fool the market either.
He should have blamed BO!
our US drug infested culture has been demanding it and the cartels have been supplying it.
Supply and demand = capitalism.
We must be honest about it.
And we must do something about it.
Open borders and free drug trade into the U.S............So tell me where he was wrong? Here's his statement:
We know what we own, and we as Americans need to confront that we are the market. There is no other market for these activities it is all coming here. But for us, Mexico wouldnt have the trans-criminal organized crime problem and the violence that theyre suffering. And we really have to own up to that.
Sounds to me like he's making a quiet statement for a border wall and more ICE and drug enforcement activity..,....
Most Mexicans don't want to live in a narco state. Tillerson is, in effect, explaining how The Wall will benefit Mexicans, as well as Americans -- at the expense of the narcos. Heck, he might even convince Mexico to pay for The Wall -- to protect Mexicans from American drug fiends. (Tongue only slightly in cheek.)
Build the wall! Less drugs coming into the US along with less illegal drug dealers!
Before the 60’s social revolution there was no narcotraficante problem like this.
The left pushed and pushes drug use for multiple reasons.
