To assist me at the event, I hired a temporary worker. I’ll call her Jane. She was a typical progressive who had moved to Portland from another state. But Jane, who is white, complained the city was a little too “white bread” for her, and she longed for a place with more racial diversity.
Needless to say, the crowds attending this event were ethnically diverse. But as the days went by, I noticed something interesting. Whenever any African-Americans entered the booth to look at my products, I treated them like any other visitors (polite, friendly, professional). But Jane would go overboard. She fawned over them. She was flattering and even groveling. She smiled so broadly, her molars showed. One time, two men purchased a very tiny item, and she insisted on taking a photo of them holding the item so she could post it on her Instagram page to show her appreciation for, um, racial diversity or something. Frankly, it got embarrassing.
Columnist Jessie Lee Peterson (who is black, by the way) noted, “Not all … but most Democrats today do not respect black people, or anyone else. Rather, they use blacks to push their own agenda.”

I worked alongside black men in the same fields, under the same sun, drank the same cool water from the same spring from the same cup.
As long as you were pulling your weight there were no distinctions.
There may have been social rules, written and unwritten, in the towns, but in the farm fields we were all God’s children earning our bread by the sweat of our brow.
Should have been the same everywhere.
Anytime you hear the phrase “too white” for a place, please reply by saying, “It’s really a shame Nigeria is so black”, or, if that’s too difficult for you, “It’s awful that China is so yellow”.
I think the whatever-kind-of-prejudice tag has lost its force except for some weak-kneed w4ankers in GOPe.
For sure been overused to the point of being meaningless. At least to me.
Maybe she fawns all over them because in her pursuit for racial harmony she’s tried black and wants to go back ?

This is also how many treat mentally handicapped yougsters, wanting to make them to feel good about themselves. Actually I have no problem with it in these cases.
Portland’s too “white bread” for Jane? She should get a place on N. Williams Avenue, then, unless things have changed completely over the last 30 years.
This isn’t exactly new. I used to converse with an old high school classmate who now lives in Seattle. He’s a grade school teacher and full blown leftist which is why we no longer converse. We literally have nothing in common except for our past and that’s it.
Anyway he was harping on the white privilege thing years ago so this is something they’ve been building on for some time. I of course disagree completely because it assumes white people never struggle or go through hardships of any kind and everything is just magically handed to us because of the melanin in our skin. This is nothing but a garbage truck sized load of bull manure of course.
I’m okay with some diversity. Any American should be since we live in the biggest “melting pot” of people and cultures in the world which is sometimes our strength and sometimes our biggest weakness because it also divides us into different cultures and neighborhoods.
The fact is most people want to live around people who are more like themselves than someone radically different. I don’t want to live in a predominantly muslim neighborhood and I’m pretty sure they would not want to live in a mostly black, Hispanic, or white neighborhood. In fact look at what newcomers to America do; they set up mini cities within cities to make it more like home rather than assimilating into the American life culture. This gradually changes every generation. I’ve seen the Vietnamese people do this after the war in their country when many moved to San Diego as part of some kind of agreement. It became little Viet Nam. They did most of their business with other Vietnamese unless they had no choice. If there was need for a certain type store or business; they would help one of their own build it. The muslims are doing the same thing in Deerborn, MI and the Hispanics are doing it all over the country. The Irish and Italians did it during the early part of the last century when many come to America at the same time for the same reason; poverty in their home country with opportunities here for hard working people.
Blaming hardships on whites is the biggest cop out ever. America is the land of opportunity not the land of everyone gets what they want equally. We all have to work at what we want or we don’t get it. Apparently many minorities don’t get it either... but then we also have our share of white trash who are pretty much the same way.

etc.
None of it works. See the last 50 years.
Next step: name-call them the same thing back at them, then give the facts (and humor)
