The Russians Were Involved. But It Wasn’t About Collusion.
NY Times ^

Posted on 07/28/2017 7:46:48 PM PDT by springwater13

The evidence that has emerged from this meeting strongly suggests that this was not an effort to establish a secure back channel for collusion between Moscow and the Trump campaign but an influence operation with one simple objective: to undermine the presidential election.

Sophisticated Russian intelligence tradecraft that was meant to be kept secret would not have permitted such an insecure opening gambit for establishing continuing communication with the Trump campaign. They would not have used something as insecure as email, or relied on liaison cutouts who could so easily be traced to the Kremlin. Instead, the Russians who attended the meeting had obvious Kremlin ties, including Natalia Veselnitskaya, a Moscow lawyer who has done work on behalf of the F.S.B.; Rinat Akhmetshin, a Russian-American lobbyist who served in the Soviet military; and Mr. Agalarov, whose father is a real estate titan close to Mr. Putin.

I can’t say how news of the meeting broke, but once it did, Mr. Putin achieved one of his goals: throwing the American government into greater turmoil amid the frenzied media coverage, escalating F.B.I. and congressional investigations and intensified political conflict. And with the revelation that Russia was behind the meddling, Mr. Putin achieved another objective: to allow Russia, despite its economic and military inferiority, to claim that it could rival the United States on the global playing field. He could do all this while denying, with a wink and a nod, any involvement.

“There is plenty of need for investigations. Only it’s the democrats who need to be investigated.”

I agree with you on that. Plenty of evidence against the dimoKKKRATS.

Deep State operative Mueller must keep digging until he finds some fake dirt to launch a coup d’état

The way this whole thing is starting to unfold reminds me of a CIA thriller, like a season of "24" with Jack Bauer...or Alias, with Jennifer Garner.

The evidence that has emerged from this meeting strongly suggests that this was not an effort to establish a secure back channel for collusion between Moscow and the Trump campaign but an influence operation with one simple objective: to undermine the presidential election...Mr. Browder's testimony yesterday before the Senate Intelligence (?) committee was fascinating - he laid out how the Russian dictatorship works, how Putin has made hundreds rich by passing out government assets in return for which they'll do anything, but anything, for him to keep their position, how the Russians attempt to corrupt others by involving them in even minor improprieties and then using those incidents to blackmail the participants into bigger and bigger "collusion" - it sounds as though Trump Jr at al who attended the meeting with the Russian lawyer skated right to the edge - had they agreed to any sort of cooperation or involvement with her in her attempts to tamper with the law, they might have been on the hook for further additional pressure - they were too smart to take the bait.....

My mind is working overtime tonight about this story. I wonder if it was indeed Fusion GPS and the dimoKKKRATS that were behind this meeting? So, is this story trying to deflect from that and blame it all on the Russians and let the Trumps off the hook?

They guy took 9 paragraphs to say “Don Jr’s meeting with those Russians was meant to be discovered.”

And to remind everyone of that scary Russian bogeyman named Putin.

And once again, everything is hearsay, conjecture, and spinning fear out of nothing for narrative building.

They claim “the nation has been turned into turmoil”. In reality the NYTWPNBCMSNBCFOXABC all left wing entertainers, and uniparty politicians have ginned up the turmoil to harm the President, his family and his voters.

“Daniel Hoffman, a former chief of station for the C.I.A., worked for over 30 years for the United States government in Russia, Europe, the Middle East and South Asia.”: The opinion piece sounds like an effort to concede there was no collusion while still diverting attention away from the Democrats’ connection to Fusion GPS.
++++
The NYT, the Head Gangster, has just sent the word out: Russia-Trump-Collusion is over. The Underling Gangsters will dutifully follow.

The Fusion GPS connection and the possibility that the Russians and/or the Dems may have paid for the Trump Dossier is VERY DANGEROUS GROUND and must be short circuited. That is the motivation for this piece. It’s time to turn the volume down on the Russian involvement in the election. Danger ahead. Time to cool it.

Mr. Browner also testified that the Russians paid for the Trump Dossier. That’s the document McCain delivered to the FBI that was the basis for launching the investigation of Trump-Russia and the appointment of the Special Council.

Not good news for Comey, Mueller and the Dems if this is proven true.

To put a story out like this is so unlike the NYT. They are letting the Trump’s off the hook and blaming everything on the Russians. Something is going on.

I don’t know about a Friday night dump, but Jay Sekulow was getting a text about this New York Times story today at the end of his hour-long live feed at noon on Facebook.

He was very surprised that the NYT was covering it and said the Deep State is about to be a major story.

FINALLY.

.... Notice how the narrative is stealthily changing? Now instead of Collusion ... It’s now simply a case of the Rushkies trying to influence the election.

What hasn’t died is “collusion” as cover for illegal surveillance of your political enemies.

Another thing the globalists will never admit is that they want to overthrow other governments (Lybia, Syria), and since they keep poking Russia, they seem to want to start a cold or hot war. Trump, at least so far, has kept us out of war in Syria at least.

We need a very strong congressional investigation of Soviet/Russian covert operations in the US since the 1920’s (the 1920’s through 40’s have already been covered by some committees, SPCUA, HCUA, with HCUA/HISC, SISS (Subcommittee), House Intelligence and Sen. Intelligence Committees or Joint Committees covering the 1950’s thru 80’s to about 1990.

Since then, there has been literally nothing since we don’t have an “Internal Security” congressional committee.

Examples of Soviet propaganda and disinformation operations include:

* “Save Our Sons” Communist Party USA front aimed at getting the families of soldiers serving in the Korean War to demand that we stop our participation.

* Soviet agents (both KGB or suspected KGB and identified/admitted CPUSA members) infiltrating, guiding, and handling legal issues/personal administrative affairs for Dr. Martin Luther King Jr, and his SCLC)

* Lies spread about Sen. Barry Goldwater in his 1964 presidential race against LBJ.

* The Soviet literature and propaganda publications distributed by id. CPUSA members Leroy Wolins (Veterans for Peace, 1965 CP front) and David Simon Canter (something like Transpacific Publications, a Soviet operation). Canter was a mentor of David Axelrod, Obama’s key political strategist, and according to his son Marc, “knew Obama”.

* Soviet involvement and funding of the 1980’s anti-Cruise Missile, Anti-ABM and anti SDI (”Star Wars) Defense systems which were proven in England (CND) and Netherlands (Nicholas Schoten, a protest leader, got KGB funds).

* Soviet KGB attempts to penetrate Congress and influence Representatives and Senators (including Sen. Ted Kennedy,, Fulbright, Hatfield, Mansfield, Eugene McCarthy, McGovern, Mondale, Muskie, Brooke and Rep. Robert Legget and Donald W. Riegle, Jr., among a few others. (FBI memo on “Contacts Between Representatives of the Soviet Union and Members or Staff Personnel of the United States Congress, Internal Security- Russia”.

The number of Soviet “contacts” of all types numbered, between 1967 - 1970 to date (July 28, 1970) as Senators = 170; Representatives = 94; Staff Employees = 800+ (Document full text can be found at www.keywiki.org, Search “Edward Kennedy” site.

Their have been other Soviet and Soviet Bloc operations in the US including one to get two indicted Soviet spies (Stern and Dodd) back into the U.S. by having an Attorney General under Pres. Carter drop the charges. Involved Rep. Don Edwards (D-CA), a hardcore FBI hater and communist causes supporter.

There are more stories out there about Soviet ops which should be fully exposed through additional congressional hearings, including the “Soviet Covert Action” hearings by the Select Committee on Intelligence, House of Representatives in the early 1980’s and other “Disinformation” programs exposed by the late Herb Romerstein and the USIA task force in the late 1980’s.

Soviet disinformation programs using American communists and so-called “liberals” also need to be exposed including those involved with the Marxist/Communist funded Institute for Policy Studies (See; S. Steven Powell, “Covert Cadre” about the IPS, 1987).

The Soviets/Russians are the best practioners of espionage, disinformation, and penetration operations in the world, esp. since they’ve been targeting the U.S. since the 1900’s, with the Communist Cubans and Nicaraguans/El Salvadoreans coming in a close second. Then the Red Chinese are making great inroads into American society through congresspeople, other politicians, business fronts, friendly journalists, and Chinese-American citizens (either threatened or sympathetic).

Just image what this would do to the Democrat Party - destroy it totally, and show that a lot of American political events were influenced by the Soviets/Russians. And “naming names” would help to fill the jails with Democrats and “socialists” traitors.
