I am disappointed it wasn’t Newt - a vociferous defender (particularly with the Mueller investigation), someone who knows how to get legislation through, and someone who would run a tight ship. I also know he’s a solid conservative and believer in what Trump ran on.

That said, I feel sorry for Priebus in a certain sense, especially being humiliated by the Scaramucci interview. Reince was picked to handle legislation and advised Trump along with his pal Ryan to start with Obamacare. That was a disaster. They should have started with taxes like Trump wanted. Also, I know that some of the people he brought in from the RNC during the campaign and post election were people who were Never Trump folks and have been responsible for a lot of leaks. Short just got fired over leaks. There were also rumors Reince was a leaker for months (Scaramucci accused him as such as well). If he was a leaker or had staff that were leaking, he needed to go. I don’t know for a fact, though, at this point.

Newt?

Is he still alive?

In what dimension could Newt be Chief of Staff?
