I believe Marx was very poor. I recall a famous remark made by some family member or other which was that she wished Marx spent more time making capital instead of writing about it. I would look the quote up for you, but I’m too lazy, and you could look it up for yourself if your interested. It seems to me that it might have been his mother-in-law who made the remark.
Correction: if YOU’RE interested.
Absolute, certifiable idiots.
He leeched off his friend Engels. I read a statement to the effect that the money Marx spent on cigars was more than the income of an average British working man.
Marx had money problems his whole adult life. I believe his wife’s family had money, but cut them off. Engels supported them quite a bit. The closest thing he had to a permanent job was commenting on European politics for Horace Greeley’s New York Tribune.

Marx was someone who never worked a real job, leeched off others who gave him money, never set foot inside a factory and died with the equivalent of around $30,000.000.
Not poor.
