2. He may have been the "courier," either directly or as an intermediary. I believe the documents were downloaded to a USB drive, not e-mailed from the DNC. So Awan may have taken the USB and sent the files through a computer that wasn't a DNC computer.
3. He may have downloaded a lot more files than those that were actually sent to Wikileaks.
It seems more likely to me that Awan knows who killed Rich (along with some other incriminating, pre-Seth information). That would explain the cushy financial arrangements he’s enjoyed—and it would certainly explain Schultz’ dismay over his arrest.
