If the persons in question did not value personal power above all else, they wouldn’t be in the position they’re in now.
They have no loyalty to anything or anyone other than themselves. That is why they were such easy prey for the perverters.
Most of them voluntarily submitted to the blackmailing events knowing full well what was involved and for what purpose.
It’s a real Catch-22 —
If you are a decent human being, then you are the sort of person we want as a politician.
But if you are a decent human being, you’ll never have success in politics.
This is essentially why government should be small and weak. It helps minimize the damage that can be done by all the low lifes who have political success.
