That’s not whistleblowing, that kind of error is in every job from ditch diggers, pharmacists, university professors. He just wanted fame and probably will cot jobs and most definitely McDs will have to cut hours of other workers, I hope they thank him in kind.

Even more ironic since Ray Kroc was a milkshake machine salesman, who discovered McDonald’s when the McDonald brothers ordered six of his machines.
I still love the Eddie Murphy routine about how all the other kids were getting McDonald’s while he got a “Green Pepper Welfare Burger”.
A little bit of knowledge can get you trouble, a total lack of knowledge, like this little SJW who probably has an axe to grind, makes him look like a fool.
But then there is so much hate for McD's that a certain class of gullible will believe anything. Kind of like democrats and Trump.
He should have reported the condition to his manager so steps could be taken to correct the problem rather than attempting to harm the business.
If the problem was intentionally not corrected he would be justified in outing it.
A few decades ago, when my now-adult kids were attending Catholic school, my wife and I pitched in for fund-raisers. One of them was working concession stands at Candlestick Park Stadium in San Francisco while the SF Giants were playing baseball. Profits from our work went to the school. We worked our butts off selling hotdogs and sodas, collecting money and giving change etc., then set about cleaning the equipment afterwards. Equipment looked like it hadn't been cleaned in months, and was disgusting. The concession workers were lazy, slow, and looked like they hated us as we ran circles around them as volunteers, they more or less stood by and watched us. Dirty conditions made me think twice about buying anything at a ball game.
As I said, he (probably knowingly) sacrificed his job.
I see lots of metal scrap outside the busiest McD’s on the Upper West Side. I wonder if that is the soft-serve machine and they are going to be getting better ones.
Like I said: he failed to follow channels. He could have fixed the problem and KEPT his job. He was stupid, it’s just that simple.
That’s probably just a remodel. McD’s franchises have to remodel either front of house or back of house every 5 years and they can’t do the same side twice in a row.
This is why I avoid slop joints like BK and McD’s like the plague. And this is also a good demonstration why every young person needs to understand that the First Amendment does not apply to their workplace. It’s very hard to go from the Facebook mentality where you tell everything to everyone whenever you want to.
