I think this is absolute nonsense.

I just finished writing a novel in which I wanted to introduce the Devil but give a different slant to what he was and his attributes. I needed to give him some sort of limitation, so I conceived of him as being restricted to telling only the truth, which he uses as a weapon to play upon the guilt of sinners and cause them to despair of being able to aspire to the divine. His hell is full of souls who remain there of their own free will, unable to face the shame and guilt of their worldly transgressions. By acting so, the Devil assuages his own guilt--the more damned souls, the less the guilt. (Very similar to the way in which homosexuals seek to force acceptance of their vice on the rest of society, and for the same reason.)
Of course one of his chief aims is to convince the sinner that God exists, because otherwise there is little guilt to act upon.

This has been the goal of the pomo movement all along: erase any distinction between good and evil.
Couch this bullshyte in fancy scholastic language and publish it in some dry, unread academic tome and suddenly it becomes authoritative ... something more than a fevered lie.

what a waste of 39 years 51 weeks of this researchers”work” life and for those who support him. If he’d read the bible with an open mind not preconceived thoughts of his own, God would likely knock his socks off and get him spending his work time doing something much greater than he thinks he has been doing.

I think this sounds like a really hoaky attempt to get a special on the discovery channel. This is right inside their wheelhouse.
Follow the money.

There is lots of evidence for only One God in the universe, though absolutely none for the so-called Devil anywhere therein until human beings developed the capability of abstracting “him” from within their own minds.

Actually, it's true. There are no fallen, rebellious angels and "Lucifer" really was the King of Babylon (whose royal raiment was so over the type he was called Lucifer which is actually the planet V----.
The chrstian "devil" doesn't exist.
I'm just wondering what any "scientist" is doing researching such a subject. Did he discover this in a test tube?

Let's just ignore all the writings of Biblical scholars over the last 150 years (and while there are bad ones, there are many good ones) AND all the theological writers over the last 2000 years.
Fool.

Science can’t and doesn’t deal with the supernatural as there is no way to falsify the hypothesis. So this article is a waste if time.

There will be more than this character that will fall for Satan’s lies. Obviously this ‘scientist’ ignores the fact that Satan has already been judged to death...

I interviewed a man once who told me one of the drawbacks to spending a significant amount of time alone with your thoughts is you begin to think very highly of them, and subsequently of yourself. This professor has fallen victim to that condition.

“Christians” didn’t declare Satan evil, Yehova did.
Most Christians follow Satan’s “Saved by Grace” gospel enthusiastically.

I sure hope he told Jesus how HE got it wrong about the enemy.

I think you’re correct .. there were NO Christians until after the DEATH OF CHRIST.
So, it must have been GOD who declared the devil EVIL.
My Christianity causes me to believe this to be so.
