Wow, did you hit a hot button for me. I once had a lawyer screw up a title (as the legal expert), but in Alabama the Lawyer’s liability is only 2 years while the seller’s is 10 years. Cost me $10K.
That’s what I’m talking about! These jerks ALWAYS make sure their butts are covered FIRST and it’s sickening.
I once had an LLC where I was the principal. The landlord sued us for some ridiculous rent-related item. I took many hours compiling & copying documents to send to the court. The court sent everything back to me with a note saying “I did not have standing to reply to this filing”. It was incredible!! Basically, I ignored any legal docs I received after that and moved on with life. To this day, I receive letters from a collection agency. I ignore them too, as I “have no standing” in my own company! LOL
PS: That collection amount does not show up on my credit report. It’s been 10+ years. The LLC is defunct
