Voting trickery redux: Christmas Eve, 2009: every single Republican senator voted against passage of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care act because they knew the `rats had the votes and they wanted to look tough to their constituents.
Since that day they have flogged their opposition to the act on the hustings.

The `rats have so much confidence in their GOP allies that they allow a straight majority vote.
The Republicans in office then and now who voted against this law in 2009 don’t have any excuses for voting against repeal today.

The GOP were for repeal of Obamacare only as long as their vote meant nothing. More and more, Congress resembles the old Roman Senate; a bunch of old, gutless cowards who want prestige without responsibility.

Hard to believe they are that deaf to the will of the people. Absolutely blind to how this is affecting Americans. The notion of ‘just let Ocare fail’ as being some sort of solution is an insult.

McConnell stepping aside is one small part of this. Since there’s no leadership - Trump should call Congresscritters together for a ‘come to Jesus’ on this issue. Cancel vacations, lock yourselves in a room and get this done. Pick a new leader, do whatever.

In the meantime I’ll write that $500 check for my Daughter’s strep test. Then I’ll make another monthly payment on a procedure from two years ago. Maybe later I’ll check the status of billings I’ve disputed ($2K for a $200 item). Yeah... love the insurance I can barely afford to use.

The ONLY Healthcare bill we’ll see passed in the next 10 years is Single Payer.

You can take that to the bank.

Do not be surprised if it’s the REPUBLICANS who pass it, though they are sooo inept I don’t even think they can effectively manage to do that.

What Republicans call “clean repeal” is in reality an amendment to ACA.

Repeal is simple:

“Effective as of Dec. 31, 2017, the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act is repealed, and the provisions of law amended or repealed by such Act are restored or revived as if such Act had not been enacted.”

The communist Republicans WILL NOT DO IT. THEY’RE LYING BACKSTABBING BASTARDS.

Sorry folks health care became an entitlement, that happened in stages over many decades, beginning with Medicare in the 1960s and continuing to ObamaCare. Voters want federally subsidized health care and they want someone else to pay for it. Over the past 20 years, health-care costs have mushroomed while median family income has barely budged. People who once could afford it can't and they want welfare.

The voters meant they didn't like the taxes or mandates but they didn’t mean that anyone should touch their coverage.

The entitlement mind-set has been taking root for two generations now.

These Senators are just following the voters, and the Democrats know this.

Still too many democrats masquerading as Republicans. Mid-term gains are the only hope to build to a necessary level. Before this fiasco I thought they could easily get 8 seats. Now I’m not so sure. With Bobby Menendez and another one (I can’t recall) in trouble it may still be possible.

Trump will get rid of Obamacare but not through a repeal.

Once he has the SCOTUS well packed a case will be brought against Obamacare and Roberts will not be able to save it.

His SCOTUS appointments will bring the end of the monstrosity that is Obamacare.

All these years they are keeping their promise.

When is Trump’s signing ceremony?

Quick question.

If this effort at getting rid of Obamacare fails, can President Trump do an executive action and just remove it that way?

Thank-you for responses.
